What can you put in the recycling bins in the rooms?

Coming from the UK, I'm confused about what's "allowed" in the recycling, our rules can be very different from area to area and there don't appear to be specific directions in the resorts. Paper, cardboard, plastic bottles, washed/unwashed cups from the room, wooden stirrers, teabags, coffee pods, plastic things like yogurt tubs or milk bottles, glass bottles.... Or am I overthinking this!

We put in cans from soda and energy drinks. We put in plastic bottles from soda and water. The rest we put in the trash. You could put in yogurt plastic containers if they are washed.

I only put drink cans and drink bottles in the recycle bin.

All on your list is okay but the pods - unless opened and emptied, the teabags and the cups unless rinsed. No cardboard that has food grease.

Do not sweat this. Keep it simple- empty water bottles, empty cans, paper. There will be no nasty gram or note in your room if you mess this up.

Cardboard is debatable. Some parts of America you’re good. Some parts no food contamination at all on it. Some parts no food and no wax. Good luck guessing what Disney’s recycler wants Just rest assured housekeeping doesn’t give one whit, they have bigger fish to fry.

Rules for recycling vary by location. Our trash company no longer permits glass when I thought it was one of the easiest things to recycle. If you aren't sure if something is recyclable and there are no written guidelines near the trash container, then I would toss it in trash. No one goes picking thru the trash/recycle containers to let you know if you were wrong.

We've been in the room several times when they come to pick up trash/recycling.....even though we had separated recycling (plastic bottles etc) from garbage....the mousekeeper just dump everything into 1 plastic garbage bag when collecting it.

Maybe call the housekeeping number and see if they have guidelines? Otherwise most places in the US recycle aluminum and plastic bottles (without the lids).

While I think most support the IDEA of recycling, in practice the economics of whether or not the recycling company can generate more revenue then they spend on the building/labor/transportation/etc. is what matters. Our local trash company no longer accepts glass (which I always thought was among the most cost effective things to recycle) and pop cans are supposed to not be crushed, but no idea why. I thought crushing cans was a good thing so they take up less space and the recycler can get more product on each truck, but who knows for sure.

Same here - at Kidani a year ago, same very nice man came every day and did the same thing!
