I can not decide to go to MK or Universal for our one day there. I have a 1 year old and a 7 year old. Please give me your adivce. Thanks.

As far as the 1 year old I think that your best bet would be MK. We have had our daughter at WDW at 22 months, 3 yrs and 4yrs and we haven't yet ventured over to IOA/Universal. I think that MK is more "kiddie" friendly and IOA/Universal would appeal to the older children - I could be wrong, so if I am let me know!!!! IMHO you can't get much better than Fantasyland for the younger children and I would think that your 7 year old would love it too!!

Both of your children will love MK. We have friends who just returned from an Orlando trip with kids 4, 7, 9 and 11. They said that only their 11 year old really enjoyed and could do a lot at US/IOA. We have been to WDW each year for the last 3 years with DSs, now 3.5 and 5. We haven't been to US/IOA yet because we have found plenty to keep us happy at WDW. I think we will probably go to US/IOA when DSs no longer want to ride every ride in Fantasyland. Good luck!;)

I'd be more concerned about your 7 year old. Your 1 year old won't really care.

If it makes you feel any better, I took my 1 year old to WDW when my husband had a convention there a few years back. Although she seemed interested in a few things we did - the characters scared her, and for the most part the relaxing rides and long lines put her to sleep. We discovered the wonderful world of the baby stations in the parks and I would suggest you check them out. They are air conditioned and were a great place to just cool off and relax. There were several older siblings in there, too.

I agree with honeymom, I would see what your 7 year old wants to do. MK in my opinion has some tamer rides that the 1 year old could experience, but, you 1 year old probably is like me 10 month old, would be just as happy playing with a ball or a box!

I'm sorry, I should've done spell check or reread before I posted. I sound like a goofball!

We just got back from WDW! We have 15 month old son and 7 year old daughter ~ same age as your kids. DEFINATELY the MK! We did 7 days at Disney:

4 times MK
2 times MGM
2 times Epcot
1 time AK
2 times Typhoon Lagoon
1 time Blizzard Beach

I took advice from these boards, it was, do what you and the 7 year old want to do and the baby will go along for the ride. It was great advice!

Our baby, who NEVER sleeps in his stroller at home, feel asleep happily everday around 11 am for 1 or 2 hours.

We would hit a PS character breakfast around 8:30 am, do a park with rides the baby could do from after breakfast until he feel asleep around noon. Then we would do the thrill rides with 7 year old daughter.

In the afternoon, when baby woke up, we would go back to CBR for a rest, then out again!

The kids bedtimes at home are: baby 7pm, 7 year old around 8pm. But at WDW the baby feel asleep between 8:30 and 9:30 pm ~ depending what we did that day and 7 year old dd feel asleep around 9 - 10 pm.

At MK the baby did the following rides:

Tomorrowland: Tomorrowland Transit Authority
Race cars
(would have done Buzz, but he napped)

Toontown: Character meet

Fantasyland: Pooh (3 times)
Snow White (2 times)
Peter Pan (2 times)
Carousel (once)
Small World (once)

Liberty Square: Haunted Mansion

Lots of other stuff at the other parks too!

My friend, who has a 17 month old son, just returned from WDW. Although she said they very much enjoyed MK (especially Buzz Lightyear), she said her son really also enjoyed US/IOA. They went to both parks in one day. He liked, in particular, the Cat in the Hat ride along with much of everything else in Suess Land in IOA. They enjoyed the Barney Show a lot, the E.T. ride, and the dinosaur exhibit in the Jurassic Park section of US. I don't think they thought there was enough for them to do with their baby for a second day, even though they had to buy a 2-day pass to go to both parks in one day. She now has tickets for one additional day that she didn't use, but are good forever.

Enjoy your trip!

(12 days and counting for me...)

:D

we took my 13 month old daughter to IOA in feb. and she loved the dr. seuess section there were at least 3 rides that she went on plus a little playground. She seemed to really like the bright colors in that section, and she also really loved the characters there.
