we'll be staying there, so I expect we might want to use snack credits for breakfast or snacks...

This could be problematic as Captian Cook's is/was down for rehab. But even so, are there any other snacks than Mickey's Premium? I don't know of any.

There is a temporary CS site at the old Tangaroa Snack Isle. Folks have reported lots of DDP snack options there just as there are everywhere now.

I'm guessing that there are also snack options at the coffee bar by Kona but no confirmation.

On the resorts board you can usually find someone who has just returned to find out more particulars.

You can get ice cream,chips,and fruit. They have it labeled as what is a snack or you can always ask about something. I learned that they have fries but you have to ask for them.

Here's what we got or could have gotten with snack credits at the temporary Captain Cook's location in July:

* Fresh pastries including muffins, cinnammon rolls, bagels, large cookies, large fresh cupcakes, and many other choices, which change throughout the day (there are muffins and such in the morning, cookies and cupcakes in the afternoon)
* Cup of fresh pineapple pieces or fresh mixed fruit
* Fruit and yogurt granola cup
* Cold cereal box (individual serving size)
* Package of two Pop-Tarts
* Mickey ice cream sandwich
* Mickey ice cream bar
* Mickey rice krispy treat covered with chocolate
* Assorted bottled drinks, small cartons of milk, hot coffee or tea

In the GCH there's also the Kona Coffee Island (or something like that) which serves pastries and drinks. You can use a snack credit for the pastry or drink there as well.

There are many many options for using your snack credits at the Polynesian, either for a snack or breakfast foods. Some of them are a really great value for your money (the pineapple pieces, for instance at $3.99 but can count as a snack) while others are not (the cereal boxes are a lousy use of a snack credit as they're less than $2.00 if you purchase them).

Have a great stay--we loved the Polynesian and we found the temporary Captain Cook's a great place to eat lunch, too, if you want to escape from the Magic Kingdom's madness at lunchtime.

thanks! sounds like it will meet our needs, and we'll almost certainly eat lunch at the Poly sometimes too when we bring our kids in for a rest.
:)
