What can I buy direct through Disney, and current prices?

It won't be any time soon, but I'm interested in purchasing DVC. Right now I'm considering direct, though I haven't ruled out resale. I visited Rivera on my last trip to Disney, and I wasn't blown away by it. It's beautiful, I love the skyliner, but my heart is at older resorts.

I'm particularly interested in AKL, BLT, and CCV. Does anyone know the current PPP on these? I know there is no incentives with buying these resorts like there would be with RIV, but I'm assuming if I buy say, AKL though Disney, I can use my points to stay at RIV (but I can't if I buy them resale, right?)

Your best bet is to go to the DVC site and do a chat. The public side of the site’s chat is with the sales guides. They can provide the most up to date pricing.

OKW is $170 but i believe they are giving $3 off per point if buy 150 points, then more of discount if you buy more. BLT and CCV dont have any discounts as of last week

Not sure if AK has any discounts, definilty ask the sales guide
I spoke with our guide a couple of weeks ago about AKV direct, they are offering $6 off per point at 150 points, $8 off at 175, $11 at 200, $14 at 250 points, $17 at 300, $21 at 500, $28 off at 1000+.

Gotcha. I must have bought right before the hike. At least is was smaller than other hikes.

Honestly, if your heart is at the older resorts, then resale may be the best option to start.

OKW might be a good choice direct if you decide you want points to stay at RIV or any other new resort occasionally. But run number because RIV with incentives may not be that far off of OKW direct and you do end up with an extra 13 years which may or may not matter.

Once thing to consider..it’s 20 years away..is that there is a good chance that the 2042 resorts will come back as new and only direct points or grandfathered from before January 2019 will be able to book there.

While we don’t know what will happen for sure, based on the moves DVD made with RIV it’s most likely going to be that way.

Good luck.

I second what Sandi said. We added on direct at OKW because we wanted to be able to have the 11 month window for GVs there and to be able to use our points at new resorts. Riviera was actually cheaper when guesstimating lifetime cost per point because of the longer contract.

Edited to add: Nothing against Riviera; we own there, too.We didn’t want another set of points at Riviera, but we wanted the option of combining both sets of points if needed.
