What camera / camera bag do you take to the parks?

When you go to the parks, do you take your "big" camera every day? I like having my dSLR to get some great shots but I also feel like my iPhone 7 takes some pretty darn good pics, too.
I have a Crumpler Six Million Dollar Home camera bag which has several other pockets that can double as my purse but I just don't know if I want to schlep my camera and bag around all day every day. . It just gets old... and heavy!
Of course, the day I don't take a big camera will be the day I will wish I had it. My dd and her friend will be 17 so getting the cute character pics and every little detail won't such a priority this trip.

Just trying to pare down my load every day.

I don't like lugging my DSLR around too much either. So I take my Canon PowerShot G16, which I love, love, love! It's considered a "bridge" camera so you do get some of the control that you would get with a DSLR, but you can also just use it as a point and shoot.

To be honest with you my DSLR is older, so I prefer using the Canon for everything now. As for what type of bag I carry, the Canon is as small as a point and shoot, so I just use a no-name bag that I purchased at target. It fits in my backpack and purse, and is great for the parks. If you'd like to see some of the pics I've taken with it, the link to my IG is in my bio.

I take my Nikon D40 DSLR. I don't use my camera bag, but I carry the DSLR around my neck on a comfortable padded strap.

Most days, I take my nikon d7000 into the parks, worn on a comfy crumpler strap worn cross body so it it ready to shoot (I leave my Kata camera bag in the room). If I get tired of lugging it, I bring a panasonic lx7.

I use one of these for my DSLr camera bag. I added a 2nd pouch on the MOLLE straps to carry lenses. and added foam internally to keep everything protected. It sits nicely at my hip and the camera is easy to grab thanks to the foam I added to keep it positioned.

We use this one. It has great features such as a plastic bottom to protect the case if we sit it on the ground. Holds our tablet/laptop. Has the sling holder for the camera for easy access. We got it at Amazon

I will bring my dslr camera. My iPhone takes decent pictures but I shoot in manual mode on my big camera and prefer having that control over my pictures. The pictures are the most important souvenir to me so I want nice pictures! I have a cheapie camera case that just goes over my shoulder. It has space for the camera, an extra lens, and the external flash in bringing!

I tend to only haul a "serious" cameras (for this discussion, a 5D Mark III, but also a Mamiya 23 and a Shen Hao 4x5) if I feel like I need significant quality. In digital terms, this tends to mean the ability to shoot RAW for the extra stops of exposure.
