Have almost decided to take the 7 day cruise (to Key West, etc.).
Was looking over some general ship information and happened to notice they offer some beer package selections as stateroom gifts. But the beers they offered in the "gourmet" selections were just Heiniken, etc.!!
Which leads me to my question--in the restaurants, what sorts of beer are available? Any microbeers, Wheat beers, etc. Or is it (as I suspect) just a collection of the "usual suspects"--Sam Adams, Miller, Corona, etc

I know that they have Corona....wish I could help you more, but a

BUMP :bounce: for your answer! :)

I've also read that you can take your own beer onboard if you dont like what they have to serve....

Happy cruising!

Thanks for the link...I was afraid of that.

I guess BYOB is an option--but takes a lot of the "fun" out of dining in a restaurant. Next step would be BYOF.

It is all the usual suspects...I am not even sure Sam Adams was there...hubby ended up not drinking any beer on the ship..lol...that is how usual the suspects were.

A cold beer while sitting on the Magic or Wonder is heaven to me..............................

Only half way decent beer was Heineken. Give me a Francis Kahner Weiss or Warsteiner or a Sapporo please.

Sorry UR--It was really generic stuff. Corona and Heinies were about as "interesting" as it got. We were on the Eastern and in St. Maarten/Ste. Martin it was all about Heineken, at CC it was Corona, and I don't recall St. Thomas, I don't think he had anything on shore.

I'm sure you'd be able to find a microbrew in Key West, but Mexico it will likely be all about Corona and Dos Equis.

We ordered a gift basket from Shirley and I had her include a sixer of Molson Ice for DH--not too exciting, but I knew she'd be able to find it.

You're not going to find Staropramen, Pilsner Urquell, Tusker, or anything else "interesting".

I heard they just added Guiness on tap in Diversions, but whether you could get a pint of it in the Restaurants I don't know...

Thanks everyone!!
This was a case of me hoping for the best, but expecting the worst--.
Since the only time I really drink beer is with dinner (or in a lounge waiting to be seated for dinner), the subject takes on an importance beyond what might be considered "usual".
