I am trying to pick a sunscreen between what is available at our warehouse in packs and my choices are basically either Coppertone or Banana Boat:

Coppertone Sport Continuous Sunblock SPF 30 Spray
Coppertone Kids Continuous Spray Sunscreen SPF 50
Banana Boat Sport Lotion spf 50
Banana Boat Kids Tear Free spf 50
Banana Boat Performance Clear SPray spf 50
Neutrogena Wet Skin Kids Sunblock Spray SPF 70+ (this is more $)

Which would you pick? Spray or non-spray? Coppertone or Banana Boat or Neutrogena?

Thanks!

I am a freak about skin cancer. Too many family members have been diagnosed with it over the years. Banana Boat Kids SPF 50 (yellow tube, pink or blue top) is my all time favorite sunscreen. Banana Boat Kids is the only Banana Boat sunscreen that won't come off while swimming. It is truely waterproof...will not come off until you scrub it off in the shower. My kids are always the only ones who don't get burned at the beach, pool or lake! It is also mild enough that it does not cause problems for my eczema kid.

That said, it is a really thick paste and my kids HATE putting it on. They'd prefer a lite lotion or spray, but those don't work well at all. The good thing is it does not have to be continually reapplied.

Thanks Mrs Ciz! That's a great rec. Banana Boat Kids it is!

I have written a number of posts about Coppertone Sport Ultra Sweatproof 30 SPF on these boards because I never get a burn using it (unless I'm at the ocean where I think the sand and salt takes it off quicker than I reapply) but honestly, after the PP's review of Banana Boat, I may try it out. Sprays NEVER work for me- at least with the lotion I can see if I've missed a spot. Good luck!

Definitely Neutrogena and preferably a spray. It doesn't feel so gummy on the skin.

I agree! Living in the south, we never go out without sunscreen. Neturogena Dry touch spray with Helioplex spf 70 or spf 100 is all we ever use.

As someone who owns this sunscreen, yes, it will DEFINITELY stay on all day, and you won't get burned, but I have to agree that getting it on is a major chore. It took me about 30 minutes to get it all over myself before I went to the beach last because it was so thick and wouldn't spread/rub in without a lot of work. I went to wash my hands after, because it was all under my nails, and fuhgeddaboudit. It wouldn't come off. Very effective? Yes. Just be prepared!

Blue Lizard. I and the kids both use the baby version. Its a physical as well as chemical block so you have to rub it in well.
I put it on every morning in the summer and then if we swim or sweat a lot I touch up with neutrogenia wet spray.

We are a very pale family, except for dd#2.

I like that kind too (the lotion) but for some reason my warehouse club is out of stock for it. They only have that new Neutrogena Wet Skin sunscreen and I checked some amazon reviews of it and they are mostly negative.

Neutrogena dry touch and Aveeno continuous protection face sunblock lotion. They are non-oily and have a matte finish. Both are around 40-50 SPF. I didn't get one ounce of sunburn during my 4 day trip to WDW. I was shocked how well it worked. I have very fair skin and burn easily. I only applied once in the morning and was good for many hours in the park.

I also used the Coppertone sports spray but found that I felt very oily and sticky all day. I couldn't wait to wash it off. You could clearly see the shine in photographs too.

Oh. I can't take fragrance and even though in the review it says that it has it, it doesn't. My wife gets it at Publix. They all seem to carry it.

It's great to see so many using sunscreen and encouraging others to do the same. Back in the day, we would never bother with such and thing. Now after 20+ surgeries for skin cancer including Melanoma, it's not that big a deal to take a minute for some precaution. It's really hard to not "preach" to young parents with beet red kids in tow. It's those nasty burns when you little that surfaces 20-30 years later. Everyone should cover up, if nothing else, it really keeps your skin young.

I burn really easily even with sun screen. The one sunscreen that I use and love is called peter island. I have used it for several trips to Mexico and Bahamas, where I have stayed on the beach all day, and have not gotton burned using this product. They sell a variety of levels of protection. I buy it from this site. www.hbgshopping.com I hope this is helpfull to you.
