What Bills Do You NOT Pay Online?

I recently started paying my bills online, but have found there are still some that I can't. My water bill and one of my credit cards don't have online bill paying. Maybe one day they will.:)

I pay everything online I pay them through my bank website. I even used to pay my daycare provider online. I had automatic payment set up, the bank would cut a check and mail it to her house every week.

I use online bill pay with my bank (Wachovia), and nothing is excluded there. If the payee doesn't have online bill pay capabilities, then Wachovia cuts them a paper check and mails it, so I don't have to (they do this for my gas bill).

That being said, I still write out my own checks for rent. It just seems like too big of a payment to trust to technology!

I do it through my bank and I pay everything online. The only checks I write now are for Church, my hairdresser, my Y membership and the occasional order of groceries.

It's the best thing that ever happened to me. The bills come it, I set up the payments and forget it! The only problem is that I never have any stamps around anymore!

I do it all online through my bank. If the creditor doesn't accept electronic payments, then they send a check. I've got almost everything set to pay automatically each month, and I go in twice a month to make sure all is well.

The only bills I do pay online are: credit cards, phone (both house and cell) and satellite. All the others either don't have a website for payment (water bill) or charges a fee (mortgage, light bill) So, I pay what I can and mail the others. I'd rather keep that extra $ in my pocket.

I still pay bills the old fashioned way. But I do shop on the Internet a lot, so I'm not *too* out of it. :rotfl:

::yes:: :thumbsup2

IMO, Always "push" the payment "from" you accounts rather than authorizing someone to "pull" money from your account.

My bank has free billpay, so I take advantage of that. The only bill I don't pay online is rent. :thumbsup2

I'm curious. For those that have automatic electronic payments, do you have a set salary?

I'd do that, but my DH never knows what his pay will be - some weeks are good, some not as good - so I don't think I could trust that I'd always have the money in the bank at the right time.

My mortgage is taken out bi-weekly automatically, so that one I have to MAKE SURE is always in there, which is a chore.;)

Our internet (cable modem) and DS's school tuition (he goes to a private school).

Even though the option is there for the internet, we can't do it. DH gets reimbursed by his work since he needs it for his job. The state needs a copy of the bill and the check we make out in order to get reimbursed. They will not accept a bank statement showing the transaction.

DS's school tuition is via snail mail only. It's a small school that our church has and they are not set up to accept payment any other way.

Other than that, the majority of our bills are paid online. Saves on postage and it gets posted quicker.

I pay everyone online now with my credit unions free bill paying service. It only takes a few minutes every month. Some are electronically paid (credit cards, utlilities, cable, etc) the rest are sent a paper check by the bank at no charge to me. Only the trash company gave me a hard time as the return portion of the bill does not get sent back to them even though the account number is noted on the bank check in the memo line. The second time the trash company sent me a letter complaining I called them and fired them.

Pretty much. DH is salaried, while I'm hourly. We know how much his check is going to be and what mine will roughly be since I get OT as well. We both get paid bi-weekly on the same week - his on a Wednesday and mine on a Thursday.

I pay all of our bills online through an account I have set up for only bills. Basically, we know how much of my DHs paychecks that need to go into that account and deposit the same amount into that account every pay. (we obviously keep a cushion, just in case) The rest of it goes into our spending account and savings.

The only thing we have automatic set up for now is our mortgage. we have a separate account just for the mortgage. DH has a set amount of his check get direct deposited into that account and then the rest of his check goes into regular checking.

The mortgage is paid via snail mail - they don't do electronic.

My DD's afterschool program I pay via fax monthly.

The utilities, car, car insurance, my disability insurance, donations & NetFlix are all set up on automatic payments.

The credit cards we pay on line but not automatically as what we pay varies depending on if they have been used.

We have a line of credit attached to our checking account so that if something hits on a certain date and we haven't gotten paid yet then we don't have any overdraft issues to deal with. Our line of credit automatically pays itself off with the next deposit made. This allows for a continual flow of ins & outs without the headache of worrying about pay day vs. automatic pay dates.

I use billpay thru my bank...bofa...and pay ALL bills...everything...I only write 1 ck a month to the lawn guy. I do use the bill pay that some of my billls offer thru their own website...but its just easier to do the bank billpay.
soooo convenient.

BofA also offers an automatic savings where I use my debit card and they round up the amount and deposit that difference into my savings. BofA
also matches a % of that. I earned $96 this year......for about 7-8 months of use. not bad. just thought I would share:cutie:

My water bill and my cable bill. Both these really bug me! My cable bill IS my high speed internet provider. Why in the WORLD wouldn't they let you pay on-line?

And my water bill! I typically get my mail, and put all the bills in a "bill box" which I pull out an pay every payday (every other Friday). I pulled out my water bill once and realized that it was overdue by a couple of days. I assumed it had slid behind something and I had missed it, so I mailed in the check with a note apologizing for the late payment.

This month, when the bill came, I realized that it was due about 10 days after I received it. Since there's no internet option, that means I would have to pay it before my next paycheck. It's not a big deal since I have the money, but it's just annoying!

I think I'm going to mail them an extra $100 this time so I'm not in arrears and then just go back to paying it at the next paycheck.
