what benefits do you not get from buying resale vs thru disney

We bought directly through Disney after much contemplation and research. reason:

1. we didn't want to go through first right of refusal when doing resale.
2. wanted to be right in the system to book a trip
3. We did get a good incentive an the extra dev points which was like a free hotel stay for us.
4. There weren't so many AKV contracts that were not stripped of their points. We were looking for a loaded contract.
5. We got refereed to a great guide and really liked him so we had a comfortable business situation which was very important to us.

There are also pluses to buying resale but that is why we bought with Disney.

We bought our AKV points with DVC in Dec. when we were @ WDW and all went really smoothly however we want to also make BCV our home resort and since we live in an unregistered area we can not add on points through DVC directly if we are not on property to complete the transaction. Therefore we are going to give the Timeshare Store a go.
