What bag to take to the parks?

(sorry, I can't get the search to work) What is a good bag to take to the parks? I have 2 kiddos, so I need something light. Also, where do I get said bag? THanks

How old are your kids that you'll be bringing? Will you have a stroller?

I used to use a backpack, but I didn't like the way that I would have to keep taking it off and putting it back on to get stuff. So I looked around the Dis for recommendations. I used this Baggalini bag two years ago.

It was nice, but got kind of uncomfortable around my neck. It is very roomy and you can carry lots of stuff in it. But it really didn't thrill me. So, then someone recommended an Overland Donner bag

I used it my last trip and I love it. It isn't as big as the Baggalini, but I could carry my Dollar store poncho, digital camera, wallet, park maps, and 2 water bottles. I really love this bag.

I carry a mini-backpack and it's wonderful. I think we picked it up at Wal-Mart some years back. It's light weight yet roomy enough to carry my wallet, a bottle of water, park map and it has a card section to hold all the room keys.

We have young kids and I always just use a lightweight backpack. It seems to hold everything we need during the day at the parks and it's easy to carry around the parks and get on and off rides with. It has several zippered areas so it's easy to get things organized. I keep the kids autograph books in one place, the diapers/wipes and baby stuff in another, the camera/batteries together and in the big section I put all our sunblock, body glide, hand sanitizer, ponchos, etc... I got it at Target for $20.

I have an Overland Donner. I like but it tends to creep up on my neck. Resolved that by getting one of DD's carseat strap covers. Works nicely. I LOVE Lands End Triple Backpack. It has GREAT organization for kids. We use it on ALL our plane trips. For our trip coming up, DH will have the LE TCB and I just bought a baglinllini messanger sling (from shoebuy for $25 TOTAL!). It'll be here next week so I'll see how I like it. Good luck!

Walmart had neat little backpacks with Disney Designs on them that may work.

I picked up a small bag there that I may try if I don't decide to try going bagless the next trip.

My fiance got a free biker's Camelbak for me with his credit card points (of course everything's better when it's free), and I carried it all over the parks. I loved it. I filled it up each morning and it reminded me to stay hydrated. I was able to fit my wallet, sunscreen stick, sunglasses, and raincoat all inside securely. Best part was, it was thin enough that I didn't need to take it off for the rides. Plus it was great in the rain for keeping things dry. I would highly recommend it- comfy and useful.

I try to avoid using a neck strap. it chafes during a hot day and gives me a headache.

Since it sounds like you will have a stroller, I'd get a bigger bag, like a backpack, for non-valuables (diapers, wipes, outfits, bottles, etc.) to hang on the stroller and a smaller bag with valuables to hang on you. A smaller bag will be more comfortable and easy to take on the rides. You can leave the larger bag with non-valuables on the stroller when you go to attractions. We did this last year, and it worked so well.

I have the LE Diaper Bag backpack with "kid supplies" to put on the stroller and an Overland Equipment Placer (smaller than the Donner and I have found it to be more comfortable, too) to keep with me at all times. The Placer holds a small camera, cell phone, $$, cc, lip stuff, tissues, pen, and even a few more things.

I bought a Disney backpack my last visit to the world and I bought it near the end of the vacation and oh how I wished I had it sooner Not big, not bulky and light weight

I carried the Overland Donner bag that was highly recommended on here. I was able to carry alot of things in it...which had the downfall of it getting heavy throughout the day. It was easy to find everything I needed in it. Our friends carried a small backpack, and the one thing that I really liked about that was she was able to put small packages in there. I sent the majority of our things back to the hotel, but some of them would have been fine if I had had a backpack. It did take her a bit longer to locate things. I think next time we go, I'll take a small backpack and see how that goes. I'll take my Donner bag too, and if I hate the backpack, I'll switch over!!

I highly recommend the LL Bean Healthy Back Bag. It fits over 1 shoulder and stays in place. It comes in a couple of sizes to suit your needs. My DH usually carries a small, traditional backpack, but its a pain to get on and off. I just purchased a Baggallini Bon Voyage Bag to use on our cruise. I'm going to test it next month when we go to Tampa for the weekend. It looks like it should hold everything including our digital camera, passports,cell,and my girlie junk.

Just a suggestion, when you do purchase your bag and before you remove the tags, fill it with everything that you would carry in the parks. Carry it around the house for awhile and see how it feels. In other words, give it a test run.

I have a big hiking fanny....the kids have smaller versions, big enough for sunglasses, chap stick, and a snack.

I have a small drawstring bag just for sweatshirts, dry socks, and ponchos...that will stay in my dads scooter.....nothing in there to have to worrry about being taken on the few rides we will all do together.

It was perfect for carrying everything we need in the parks

I did not have an issue with the strap but, it was cold and I had a fleece on

I love the car seat strap tip from another poster, I will be keeping that in mind for my warm weather trips!

I've been looking online for the past week trying to decide what bag I should get. Tonight I just ordered the LL Bean Carryall Guide Bag. http://www.llbean.com/webapp/wcs/st...ry=4520&cat4=2913&shop_method=pp&feat=4520-tn The site said it was new. I liked the looks of it, I like LL Bean, and the price was reasonable. $19 So I gave it a shot.

I haven't used it in the parks yet though. I also paid about $30, not the price they're asking online, at our REI store on clearance.
