what baby sling do you recommend

I like MT's but I hate that the straps drag on the ground....

I think you're best bet is going to be a SSC (soft structured carrier) like a Beco or Ergo (the 2 best know, there are others out there that are great too - if not better, LOL!)

I posted a video of me putting my 6 month old on my back in another thread....lemme see if I can find it....

OMG! What a cutie! :) Love that smile!

You may want to see if you can get him a bit higher up on your back. It will help with your comfort.
Still chuckling over the puke down your back. Not fun for you, I'm sure!

I remember those days! Both of my DDs had severe GERD and I felt like I was constantly covered in spit up! When I carried them on my back, I used to stuff a towel into the back of my shrt collar and would let it hang down my back. It helped a lot. It might have looked weird, but I figured that I could look weird or I could smell like sour milk all day.

EXCELLENT IDEA! THANK YOU!

tell me, when did the spitting up stop? he's 7 months tomorrow and it's not getting any better! we had every test possible and he just needs to grow ou of it.

i bet the resort hand towels would come in handy for the barf! i'll just wash them and return them!

Hand towels are the perfect size. Tuck a few extra into your diaper bag.

Both of my girls were on liquid Zantac because they were in so much pain. But, that doesn't really help prevent the spitting up. I introduced cereal mixed with breastmilk when they were fairly young - around 6 months or so I think. That really helped to keep the milk down. They totally grew out of it by 9 months, thank goodness!

I'm sure you've already figured out that regular bibs just don't cut it. I made several out of smallish hand towels and they were so much better! They cover the shoulders and most of the front of the baby. You can find instructions for making them here: http://www.mormonchic.com/crafty/dsh_twl_bibs.asp. The pattern suggests using collars from old t-shirts, but I just bought ribbing at the fabric store.

no bib can compete with my guy! in fact i fully expect to have video of thomas barfing on mickey!

thanks for that link! i bet they will help!

I love my Moby, so does DD. She no longer tolerates her stroller; I think in part because she likes to face us. She was content to stay for longer periods of time in her stroller when we still used the infant seat and she was facing us.

We've used the Moby for 3 WDW trips and it has worked really well. It's very comfortable to wear, keeps DD secure and comfy, can wear DD in many positions and it's inexpensive, around $35.

I love my Moby too. My only problem with it is that like most stretchy wraps, it gets too stretchy! It's fine when the babies are little, but it doesn't work as well with bigger babies and it is really hot.
I'm going to get a woven wrap, which is a non-stretchy wrap. I've seem some really light ones like the ones Gypsy Mama makes. http://http://www.gypsymama.com/shop/breeze.htm

that looks AWESOME!!! Another thing I do is slide babylegs onto the straps since my DS is a chewer and slobberer to keep the straps semi clean :lmao: I think they have them or knockoffs at Target nowadays -see here...

Ya all are making me want to get an Ergo! I love the Mei Tai, but the Ergo looks great for back carries.

I'm a FL girl and LOVE my GM wrap - it is so light, but so sturdy. Although now that HippieBabe prefers walking to riding, I am getting a lot more use out of the Ergo. It's so much faster popping her in and out. I definitely miss the days where she would just hang out in her wrap and nurse all day! I still use a RS on occasion, but at 20 pounds she's getting a little too heavy for my bad back to handle.

The Ergo is phenomenal for a back carry, especially if you're nervous about it. It's fast and so secure!
