What at WDW makes you Tear Up? (Inspir'd by Wvjules)

seeing the castle for the first time, and seeing my kids reactions..

Can't wait for Meggie to see it for the first time this weekend...It's her second trip..but she was only 1...now she's almost 3....it is goign to be soooooo cool.

American Adventure, Tapestry, character interaction with different guests, especially folks with various handicaps or infirmities, the ending of the Great Movie Ride, saying goodbye to some of the wonderful people whom I meet there.

I know......can't sleep.....lol....

I remember saying "goodbye" to Dan last year in Epcot. We had all just watched the parade and Illuminations and had a great day. He held Hunter and told her goodbye & it was one of those moments you hold in your heart forever. I remember watching him walk back toward his hotel. It was super sad because since he's a "stranger", I don't know whether I'll see him again or not.

I cry at the Castle, I cry walking down Main Street, I cry a lot at Disneyworld. Most are very happy tears. But some are sad. I was 8yo when I started this. The magic hasn't left me yet.

Not finding a smoking section in the parks. :)

okay, I'm kidding..what really brings tears to my eyes is the price of food at Tubbi's. Oy!

okay, kidding again. nothing really makes me weepy, just blissfully happy..especially when I approach the "Welcome" sign after I turned off the Interstate.

seeing my dd sooooooo happy and sooooooo incredibly well behaved.

Heck, if she's not going to cry, I might as well.;)

Oh my gosh, the list is too long to post! The first sighting of the castle, those first steps into the WL....ahhhhh, watching the characters interact with the kids, Tinkerbell flying out of the castle, watching the sparkle in my kids eyes!, the music...oh the music everywhere, Zippity do dah, Peter Pan, the feeling of ds's hand squeezing mine as we walk into the Haunted Mansion, the Christmas tree in the WL, eating warm almonds on a cool Christmasy night waiting for the parade to start, the engineer reading The Polar Express at MVMCP, all the Santas at Epcot. And the sad ones? That last boat ride out of the MK on our last day and ...worst of all...walking out of the WL to the car to go home. DH has learned...hand me my sunglasses, hold my hand and keep the tissues coming. He doesn't even laugh at me anymore. Oh geez...I am tearing up just thinking about it!

The castle
Hearing Zip-a-dee-do-da
The time I met Fairy Godmother and she let me hold her wand while she gave me an autograph:D
Seeing the characters with kids that are so excited and hugging them

Illuminations

.......and when we're leaving WDW, I'm a real mess then!:o

Last June was my first trip to WDW. As soon as we passed under the main entrance gate to MK (to get to the Contemp) I teared up. When when walked into the MK for the first time I teared up. Fantasmic had me in tears too. I think I cried atleast once a day for the 6 days we were there. Seeing how Kendra reacted to the place was what did it to me. :)

The "one man's dream" movie and Illuminations- reflections of earth. I always get goose bumps for that!

Our first trip was one year ago this month. It was a birthday surprise for our 10 year old daughter. But, we all know the trip was for ME!! LOL

All of my childhood I had asked mom when we could go, can we go, etc.. and she didn't have the heart to tell me we couldn't afford it. I told her many times all I wanted to do was see the castle. When I was really little, that is all I thought there was to WDW.. the castle.

So, our first day Novemember 11, 2001 bright and early, we are walking up Main Street. The fog is horribly thick, and my daughter whispers to me, Where is the castle?? I told her I didn't know, but to keep following everyone else, they would lead the way. (Oh, lucky us, we had the princess breakfast). So, like a fairy tale, the castle just peeked out of the fog at us. Well, by the time I finally got to see the castle, I was in tears!!

Of course, here are the pictures, I always think they tell the story better than I do:

We're just following the crowd:

My daughter asking where it was:

Tears are gushing now!!! I can see it!!!

Crying like a baby, and the crowd just parted and I was able to get a pic of my daughter walking up to the castle.. like I had always wanted to do at her age.

Cool pics dmslush! For some reason, Fantasmic always gets to me and of course, Illuminations! This last spring, we were in Epcot at the American Adventure Pavillion and they did a special tribute to all the Armed Forces and they played the anthems for the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines and Coast Guard and each time the anthem was played for each, they told the people that served for them to stand and I was teary eyed for 30 minutes straight! What an awesome day that was at Epcot!

Oh gosh I must be really pathetic b/c I start to cry when the tram picks us up in the parking lot & they say "Welcome to the Magic Kingdom, .please keep your arms & legs......beh, bleh, bleh"
That is it for me I cry every year...All day
heheheheheh

Oh goodness!! I'm tearing up just reading this thread!! The pix of the fog and the castle........OH MY!!!! Thanx for sharing dmslush!

At WDW, I always cry like a baby at the Candlelight Processional when the choir sings Silent Night and it starts "snowing". any time it "snows" at WDW I get all teary! American Adventure does it to me too. But the happiest tears I cry are watching all the little ones--their reactions to the characters, the outfits they are wearing (esp. the costumes!), the sheer delight you see in their faces!! And not all of them are so little, either!!

And yes, another, Candlelight Processional.

Dmslush, I am in awe every time you post that series of pictures of your daughter, the Castle and the fog. A stunning sequence, always.

My last day there....:(
