What area to request at CSR?

Currently looking into CSR for a trip. I've looked at a lot of photos and read information and it seems to me that Casitas appeal most to me. I really like the look and it looks like a wonderful picture site area! I've heard though that conventioners stay here the most so it takes away from the Disney experience? Anyways, so far...my preference would be:

*Casitas
*Cabanas
*Ranchos

Please vote and tell me why you like a particular section!!

It all comes down to preference. We like the cabanas because of the location and beaches but some like the look and feel of the ranchos and others the the fountains and courtyards of the casitas. Look at the pics on my website to help you out.

I stayed in the Ranchos section in 2002 and I think it's the best section of the three. Yes, it's the farthest from El Centro, but the theming is just awesome. The way the sun hits the red rocks and the look of the dry river bed is really cool, almost like being in the real southwest U.S. If you don't mind walking, it provides a beautiful walk to El Centro in the morning for breakfast and the entire resort is very romantic to walk around at night. Have a great time!

I voted for Cabanas, but as Buzz said, it really just comes down to personal preference....we stayed in Cabanas 8A and loved it because it was closest building to the main dig site pool and really close to the bus stop and parking lot...those are the things that are most important to us.....just decide what's most important to your group and request an area based on that....have a great trip...

We stayed in the casitas it was nice because we were so close to El Centro.

We stayed in the Cabana 8A building, just a few short steps to the main pool and a bus stop. This particular building also sits sideways, so you don't get a direct parking lot view. I'd request Cabana 8A again.

Cabana 8A looks like it has everything we're looking for. My only concern, seeing it's the 3rd stop on the bus route, is it difficult to get on? We're going to be there over spring break next week.

we never had a problem getting on or off the bus from Cabanas 8A...in fact you have a choice of bus stop 3 or the El Centro stop is really close as well....
