What are your top 5 non signature restaurants that are on the dining plan? Feel free to state why. I need help with a couple more ressies. Thanks!!!

Excellent question! I am looking for the same things as we just upgraded today with the free dining annoucment! So far we have Coral Reef, Tusker House and Ohana!

We enjoy:

Crystal Palace~ the food is good and great variety. The character interaction is wonderful with Pooh and friends.

Ohana~we love breakfast here. If you like Lilo and Stitch this is the place for you. The juice is so good. We also like Dinner here it is good and the music really gets you in the mood of being on an island. The pineappple bread is yummy.

Cape May Cafe~ We love the food here. You can enjoy all you can eat on seafood and american fare. I don't like seafood, but the ribs our very delicous. The desserts our yummy especially the molten cake. Its quite small but very good.

LeCelleur~We like the steaks here. On dining plan you can only have lunch here for 1 TS credit. Dinner is Signature dining now.(2 ts credit).

I don't do DDP but I'll stick to those that take it. Should also mention that I don't have children, so there won't be any character meals on my list, it's based only on food/beverages. And the list changes from time to time, but this is now.

Sanaa
Biergarten
Via Napoli
Kouzzina
Raglan Road

What ADR's do you already have? What kind of meal interests you (character, buffet, family style, standard TS)?

Without knowing your answers my 5 non-signatures would be:

Sanaa
Cape May
Biergarten
Les Chef's
50's PTC

We just got back yesterday. After going on 4 trips with the free DDP we have tried out quite a few. I would haveto say:

Crystal Palace- large variety and the location. Anything in the MK is great :)

Liberty Tree Tavern- The food is awesome, some of the best mashed potatoes and gravy. The new dessert is out of this world

Le Cellier- the best steaks around. The pretzel bread is to die for:lovestruc

Kona Cafe- TONGA TOAST for breakfast, enough said :worship:

Chef Mickey's- the atmosphere is great for kids and the food is good :yay:

1. The Rose and Crown - I love this place. I love the food, I love the atmosphere, I love the view, and I love the CM's.
2. The Garden Grill - This place is just plain awesome. One of my favorite rides is the Living with the Land and this restaurant circles around above portions of it. The food is great too. ;)
3. Chef Mickey's - Because of my kids. My kids love this place. We always eat here for our first breakfast in WDW and the kids cannot wait to get outta bed and to the restaurant.
4. SciFi Dine In - This place is so cool. Their food is just on par with most other places in Disney but the atmosphere is a sensory overload.
5. Liberty Tree Tavern - This place feels just like how I think an old tavern should feel, comfortable. The food is pretty good too. :woohoo:

A very interesting question but yet the answers are somehwt dependent on the ages, etc of your party. All adult? with older / adult children or younger children.

1 - Best breakfast on property = Boma's Restaurant but the best breakfast in my opinion catering to children would be Crystal Palace. A close second would be Chef Mickey and then 1900 Park Fare.

2 - Non-Signature Rest - Well, LeCellier is out as it is 2 credits, Sanaa is out as well along with Jiko's etc. What is next? well, Chef de France is still the most consistently good restaurant to eat at. Rose Crown and Pub is also very good. For kids? well, that would be Cape May Cafe or again, Chef Mickey for dinner. Also, Whispering Canyon Cafe is excellent for ANY meal and there are games played during the hour you are there for the kids as well.

3 - Hidden but awesome gem.....Yak and Yeti Restaurant. Man, this place is scoring high as I have eaten there 4 times thus far and all my meals (lunch) have been awesome with great service as well.

Here is my list

1 - Chef de France
2 - Boma's Restaurant
3 - Yak and Yeti Restaurant
4 - Whispering Canyon Cafe
5 - Crystal Palace

2 - Non-Signature Rest - Well, LeCellier is out as it is 2 credits, Sanaa is out as well along with Jiko's etc.

Sanaa is not a 2 credit restaurant, and Le Cellier is only 2 credits at dinner; it's 1 credit at lunch.

Here are my 5 choices for 1-credit places. Food was great and good atmosphere too.

1. Sanaa
2. Kouzzina
3. Coral Reef
4. The Wave (only for dinner - lunch has too many conventioners)
5. Biergarten

I agree with DisneyDad61 in that the answer has many variables. I tend to look at each restaurant as which restaurants offer the best bang for my buck. My List:

- Ohana- As an unapologetic carnivore thids restaurant speaks to me on a very basic level. Grilled meat on a stick. 'Nuf said.
- 1900 Park Faire- Great buffet and the character interaction is one of the best in WDW.
- Crystal Palace- Same as above.
- Boma-
- Cape May

Thanks for everyone's replys. We have always done a lot of character meals but now that my son is getting a little older (will be 7) we want to try some other restarurants. I have been to Coral Reef , Tony's, 50's Prime Time, Sci Fi, and Ohana and liked them all. I didn't like Cape May or Yak and Yeti. Looking for non buffet style. I currently have ressies for the Garden Grille (our favorite character meal and love the food) Hoop Dee Doo, and The Wave. Thanks again!! I love seeing what everyone likes.

These 3 are our never miss ones since the food & service are great:
Kona Cafe - breakfast & dinner are great, never tried lunch, food is always excellent & so is the service, sushi is very good.
Liberty Tree Tavern - love their pot roast & pasta (when its on the menu), burgers and salads are good too
Yak & Yeti

We mainly only do signatures for the rest of the meals but if I had to pick 2 other non signatures:
Sci Fi - fun atmosphere, burgers were good.
Chefs de France - best french onion soup

Kona Cafe- both breakfast and dinner

Le Cellier- lunch or dinner

Tony's-lunch or dinner

Yak & Yeti- lunch or dinner

WCC- dinner

We LOVE LOVE Boma and are going there on our upcoming trip again!

Crystal Palace

Coral Reef

Whispering Canyon

Those would be my top 4. This time around we're also trying Cape May, Kona Kafe and 50's Prime Time (wanted to try this one for a very long time now)

My favorites are:

1. Boma
2. Ohana-it is so much fun!
3. 50's Prime Time
4. Le Cellier
5. 1900 Park Fare breakfast- strawberry soup=amazing!

this will likely change after my upcoming trip. I've got some great ones on the list!

hoopdeedo revue and teppan edo are tied for 1st!!! we also love liberty tree tavern, chef mickeys, and tutto italia

hope this helps:thumbsup2
