I am planning on doing 2 character breakfasts with two 11 year old boys. I am not interested in the princess ones. I would like to know your top 3 and why and the best time to eat. Thanks!

We went to this one last May with our best friends who have a 9 yr old son. He enjoyed all the characters in safari outfits. The restaurant is nicely themed also. The buffet is good...standard choices but also a tropical flaire. We went at 10am so we could do the safari ride first (not as hot) and would have full stomachs until dinner. Hope this helps.

Chef Mickey's - we think the food is good and we love to eat while the monorail races through. We also think the character interaction is quite good. We've always been fortunate where there's been a fair amount of banter between the characters and family which are memories to last a lifetime.

Crystal Palace - from a food standpoint we think this is the best character buffet on property. The variety is vast and the service has always been good. We always call early and get our ADR for 8:05 or 8:10. We like getting early entrance to the MK for the photographic opportunities which is a bonus. We pay our server as soon as we are seated and then walk out just before 9:00 so we can make rope drop to Fantasyland.

Cape May - my daughter loves this. She thinks seeing Goofy in a swimsuit is hysterical. The food selection isn't broad but it good and the character interaction has been good.

Hope this helps.

1-Donalds safari breakfast- HEY They have donald and Breakfast pizza
2- 1900 parkfare- can you say order your own custom omletes-Not too girly- I think the best food
3-crystal Palace- Omlets again and you are in MK- Who does not like Pooh -Bear that is

1st Adr of morning to Fuel up and hit the ground running

CP - We love the food, getting into the park before everyone else is a huge plus and I love to hug Winnie the Pooh

Ohana - the fresh fruit is fantastic, can get the pressed pot coffee and the cinnamon rolls and pineapple rolls are to die for

Cape May - Love the characters in their bathing suits and the bread pudding with vanilla sauce is wowza!

We absolutely loved Chef Mickey's - totally yummy, cool atmosphere, and great character interaction. This is one I would definitely do again. :lovestruc

1. Chef Mickey's - I like the buffet and they have Mickey waffles!
2. Crystal Palace - it's Piglet! and the puffed french toast is amazing! being there early in the morning is great so you can get in and get pictures of a semi-empty park
3. Sorry, for me this is the castle. the atmosphere, the character interaction, the granola with yogurt and fruit.....

#1 - Cape May Buffet - doesn't seem to get as crazy as some of the other character buffets, kids get to color on the paper tablecloths and most importantly - they have asparagus for breakfast!

#2 - Crystal Palace - great buffet and a magical setting.

#3 - tie 1900 Park Fare and Ohana. Love the strawberry soup, Mad Hatter and Mary Poppkins at 1900 Park Fare, love the special juice, pineapple bread and Stitch at Ohana.

Ohana
Cape May
Chef Mickey's
Love them all for different reasons. Although Ohana is a must do for us every trip. Love the atmosphere, food, service and view!!

They loved Breakfastsaourus when it was around so the Tusker House one should be great. Donald is there, he is usually a hit with boys.

Chef Mickey- Again lots of chances to meet characters...plus Goofy is so clumsy!

Both foods are good but nothing spectacular but filling and tasty.

I have wanted to do Ohana's as we have a big Stitch fan.

We just did Cape May, the food was good but the character interactions were the worst we have had at any breakfast. I was expecting it to be much better than it turned out to be.

You could look into the Pirate cruise at the GF. The kids go off on it alone and you two could have a very civilized brunch at the GF while waiting for them. Your boys will absolutely LOVE the cruise, plus you will like the brunch. Just a thought.

Just a word to the wise... don't book a really early breakfast unless your family is a bunch of early risers. Also head back to the resort mid afternoon to recharge at the pool, otherwise you will have a very long day.

We have only done 3 but I will rank them...

1) Cape May - Lovely breakfast and restaurant. Characters are great and spend time with you. The one detail that stuck out to me was cleanliness. The colors used in the restaurant and bright and just overall a great time.

2) 1900 Park Fare - It was a little dark for me but the food was excellent. The Mad Hatter is insane. He sat down at the table with me and wife and kept shrieking "Alice!!!! Alice come over here!!!". He yelled across the room to her and just made the experience one of a kind.

3) Chef Mickey's - Idk maybe I was in a bad mood lol. That song they play with the swinging napkins just annoyed the daylights out of me. I felt like I heard it 30 times. The restaurant seemed kind of dirty and just not well maintained.

I'd like to know this to. We are going Aug 8-15 and I have a Pirate obsessed 11 year old boy. We are newbies to character meals and have the dining plan. He's not too cool for characters but doesn't want it to be too girly/babyish. I , on the other hand am insisting on CRT!!!

sorry for the 2nd post but we are not early risers unless it's really good! lunch and dinner are better for us. Ideas????pirate::cheer2:

You can have a brunch at the GF while you wait for him. Similar ones take place at other resorts. The cost is extra for the children, you cannot use the dining plan for them.

We did the one at the GF and it was very enjoyable having brunch there and strolling around the grounds.

1. Crystal Palace - good buffet which includes puffed french toast!, good character interaction, like the nice open atmosphere of the restaurant, great way to start off a day at MK

2. Chef Mickey's - good buffet with nice selection, good character interaction with the Fab 5, fun atmosphere

3. Ohana - relaxed & enjoyable atmosphere with polynesian theming, good food served family style, Stitch & Pluto are hilarious

Chef Mickey's - The food here is good and the character interaction is great!

1900 Park Fare - OMG...the Mad Hatter is totally insane here! The food is okay...normal breakfast food stuff, but you aren't really doing character meals for food, right?

Ohana - Stitch is way funny and I have never had the kind of playfulness from Pluto like I did here. The characters are so much fun here. The food is good...the sausage to die for really.

1. 'Ohana - no buffet lines - sit and relax

2. 1900 Park Faire - great selection/quality of food. Room is not over-crowded. Great character interaction, especially the Mad Hatter.

3. Crystal Palace - great selection/quality of food. Great MK location.

Honorable mention - Chef Mickey's
