Riverside, Ca. 1900 sq. ft house was purchased new in 2004 for 370K, now worth 450K
Taxes are $6000 per year.

Now So Cal property is crazy(although the rest of the country is sure catching up). I've been very fortunate through no skill of my own.

1998 bought townhome for 99K, sold for 135K in 2001. Taxes were $1200
2001 bought townhome for 175K, sold for 310K in 2003. Taxes were $2400
2004 bought new house for 370K, now worth 450K in 2005(had to move out of Orange County to afford this). Taxes now $6000

OMG!!!!!

I just got my newest tax bill for 2005/2006 and my taxes have gone down almost $200!!!!!!!!

I've never had that happen!
