1. I would like to try to read 1 book a month. I have never been a reader unless it is Disboards or a WDW Travel book or one of my DS chapter books, which he can now read himself.

2. Make a list for each room in our house and try to organize or fix anything that needs to be done. This includes closets and cabinets. Just trying to get more organized.

Suggestions for books that are fun, easy reads greatly appreciated and organizational tips are also welcome!!

PAINT MY HOUSE!!!!! I want my entire house painted inside.

We started with dd's closet a couple of days ago and now I am moving on to her room.

I am going to do the typical - diet and exercise.

My main goal is to strengthen my marriage. My kids are not quite as needy as they were when they were younger, so it is time to start working again on my relationship with DH.

Denae

Ride a Century (100 miles) and Conquer the Coast (63 miles in Corpus Christi)
Crochet an afghan
Finish painting my house (out and in)

To stop using credit cards and try to get out of debt.

My NUMBER ONE GOAL/FOCUS this year is to get back with my diet and exercise program.

I lost 40 pounds a couple of years ago (when I discovered I was type 2 diabetic) but have slowly gained back 18 pounds (although haven't gained any more since May).

I want to lose that 18 AND another 20 by summer. I'm going to be 50 in August and I want to be "50 and Fit" and not "50 and Fat!" :cool1:

I also want to get the upstairs of our house organized. We have too much "junk" up there, it has spilled out of the "junk room" into the hallway and into our DD's old room (she's been married and out of the house over 6 years) so I want to clean up there and throw a LOT of junk out, and get the rooms put back together so we can actually use them as bedrooms!! :)

Those are the only really major goals I have for this year.

Get out of debt

Find a less stressful job

Lose weight

Make repairs to the house

Make a trip to Florida

Win the lottery

Eh, the last one might be hard but maybe I have a shot at the others. It's worth a try at least.

Stay more orgainized. I tried this last year, but broke it off by February.

Try not to procrastinate. I'm not as bad as I was last year.

Be nicer to my parents. I always say that, and try my hardest, but there are times where my mom just makes me snap.

Practice the piano and clarinet more. (It is not my fault that my band director picks easy music for my band to play!)

-Stay on top of bills, get everything caught up and put some in savings.

-Do Christmas shopping all year long. Any time I see something I know someone would like, grab it then. I'm tired of waiting to the last minute, then you have to run around, fighting with the crowds and you have to try to figure out where all the money is going to come from.

Keep the grades up.
Quit procrastinating. I'm sitting in my bedroom at home looking at piles of stuff from college that have yet to be unpacked. It basically looks like something exploded; I just haven't figured out what yet;)
Learn to stick up for myself. This semester was hell because of an inconsiderate roommate, and I do wonder if it could have been a little better if I'd been able to stick up for myself
Get back to Disney. One of my friends lives in Florida and she was begging me at the start of the semester to go down and go to Disney with her. I want to make it happen

To enjoy and love our new son who is due in March, lose the baby weight and hopefully to payoff some debt.

- Keep on loving my DBF, make sure he keeps on loving me, and hope that he will propose.
- Enjoy my new job, and start building up a career nstead of just having a job
- Loose weight. Once again.
- Not spend as much money, and actually start saving some money. Won't happen too soon, because I'm going to call my WDCC-dealer, and order 3 of the 4 Holiday Princesses (they retire on Sunday!) (the princesses, that is...)
- Try to not be "messy". I'm someone who always manages to have stuff all over the place. I finally want to keep everything nice and orderly!

Ok, here are mine:

1) Loosing weight. About 9 years ago I lost 60#'s and unfortunately I gained it back. My older brother's getting married in March and I want to loose some of the weight I gained. I won't loose all 60#'s in 3 months, but I want to loose as much as I can.

2) Hold off on spending so much on my credit card. I'm not in debt, but I'm tired of forking over a lot of money each month to my CC bills 'cause I spend to much.

First-what kind of books? Like girly chick lit(which I LOVE;) )

If so, the Shopaholic series is lots of fun.

Anything by Jane Green -that's in the same vein as Shopaholic.
More British Chick Lit: Bridget Jones Diary by Helen Fielding made me laugh out loud so often. I love that book!

Elizabeth Berg is a fantastic author-her books make me cry, but they are easy reads, and wonderfully written.

I like Adriana Trigiani's books
OH--Lorna Landvik, love her stuff! Especially Angry Housewives Eating Bon Bons, probably my favorite book.

Books I liked a lot--not funny happy ones though:
Black & Blue by Anna Quindlen I liked Blessings by her, as well.
The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold

I like all of the Jodi Picoult books. She's writes mysteries.

A Girl Named Zippy by Haven Kimmel-it's a laugh out loud memoir-I loved it.

There's always Nora Roberts-I usually like her stuff.
Funny romance-y authors:Jennifer Crusie, Erin McCarthy, Rachel Gibson, Marian Keyes

As for my goals-get a financial plan and stick to it.
Lose 10 lbs of vacaton/Christmas weight.

1 - Work on getting the house organized. With the baby being born last year and getting back to school full time, the house is definitely in need of attention! :scared:

2 - Spend more time with dh.

1. diet and exercise, I really need to lost about 35 pounds
2. pay off all our credit cards, it isn't really a lot but I'm tired of making monthly payments!
3. get the house organized!
4. work some more towards my degree

typical new year stuff

1. Pay off credit card debt.
2. Write a will.
3. Get closer to God.
4. Go to MouseFest 2007.
