What are your main reasons for traveling to WDW in November?

We have our vacation already planned for August '05 and still plan on going then. However, we just got the school calendar for next year and we are off the whole week of Jersey week. Usually, our schools are full day monday/wednesday, 1/2 day election day(tues) and off thurs and friday (NJ teachers convention). Due to an issue in one of the schools last election day, the school board decided to not have the children in schools that day as that's where we vote...the schools. I thought that if we could save lots of money by going in November, perhaps it would be worth it. The pricing would actually be about the same as going in August, after pricing it out many ways. I said to DH that we would gain lower crowds and cooler temps...is there something else that I'm missing? DH still wants to go in August because he likes the idea of the longer park hours, even though we'll go back to the hotel for a break. We'd go straight thru the day in November. DS also doesn't want to wait till november for vacation. The decision has been made. However, just wondering if there are other bennies from going in November.

we love nov! it is our favorite time to go. Early nov. that is. We used to go in sept, but our jobs require us to cancel vacations for hurricanes, even if they don't hit directly, so enough with that!

we went last nov and the weather was incredible, low crowds, and some christmas decorations were up. we decided it is our new time to go.

btw, could you post the actual dates for jersey week this year? no offense, but we planned our week around it as I have read on these boards that the parks are pretty full...

have a great trip! nov beats august (in my mind) any day of the week. I won't even go for my 30th bday in august as we dislike wdw in august so much. (jmo!) :sunny:

You mentioned that the benefits were "just cooler weather and lower crowds"... IMO, what more reason do you need? Even with slightly shorter hours, you will enjoy touring so much more when you aren't experiencing heatstroke and wall-to-wall crowds!

As Rozzie mentioned, you will get to see some of the Christmas decorations. You will also get to experience the Food & Wine Festival at Epcot- there are free concerts by famous acts there, too. Fun!!! And if you are into ABC soap operas, MGM is having Super Soap Weekend on the 12th and 13th. Soap stars are there to meet and get pics and autographs with.

Once you go during the slower season, you won't want to go back in the summer. Have a great trip! :cheer2: :cheer2:

Food and Wine Festival is very nice, we went last year and it was fun going around World Showcase and trying different foods. We are also looking forward to Festival of the Masters Art Fair the week-end we will be there this year. We've never been to this before.

We chose November-Thanksgiving, mostly because we're new to this "empty nest" thing, and our kids weren't home for Thanksgiving last year. We didn't want to spend another "empty" holiday, so it's off to WDW!

I agree with Amy&Dan.....Get APs and go both times

We went from Thanksgiving until the Wednesday after in 11/04. The weather was amazing. Cool, but warm enough for water parks and pool time. The crowds from Sunday through Wednesday were so light that fastpass machines were not needed. November is now my favorite time to go!

Not a benny here (since we live by the shore in central NJ), but we'll be there during "Jersey Week" too. It's one of our favorite times to visit WDW. The weather is usually beautiful, and contrary to popular belief, we don't find it to be that busy at all during that week. We've been there many times at Easter too. Now that's BUSY!

We are going in november cuz our AP expires in December and were not sure if we will renew them. So for us... we went december last year and nov. this year! :goodvibes It gives us time to save also. But I need cooler weather and low crowds sound great to me~!

For me, it is to celebrate my birthday (not going back till 08 unfortunately), and the Christmas decorations are wonderful, as are the small crowds, and mild weather!!!

Jules
