What are your holiday week movies & binge shows this week?

We watched A Quiet Place last weekend and the sequel A Quiet Place 2 today. We thought both were very good alien-thrillers. A third installment is out in theaters now, so we’ll likely go at some point over the 4th extended weekend.

Twister! Is one of my favorite movies, along with the original Jurassic Park. The music, cast, writing, all add up to a classic. Can’t wait to watch Twisters! in a few weeks. Just hope it’s good!

We’re watching old Survivor seasons. Just finished 37 - one of our favs so far. I recently watched two seasons of Loot! It’s was 😆 funny.

Twister was even better than I remembered, kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time. I wouldn't have called it a horror movie but after rewatching it I would, not gory horror but like old fashioned scary. The whole idea of tornadoes popping up in the night is just terrifying - hugs to people in the midwest who live with this, you are very brave.

I wondered while watching why the storm spaces are so far from the house? Must be a reason

Also started rewatching Game of Thrones while I watch the new House of Dragons.

Ohhh that teddy bear is enough to keep me up, you are brave.

Whatcha thinking for Disney?

I just pulled out all my Disney DVD’s and VHS for my Disney guest room. I even bought a RCA to HDMI cable so I can hook my old VCR up. I’m just going to watch all of them, maybe but in order. i haven’t really decided yet. I do know the newest one I have is Princess and the Frog, which both daughters bought for me for Christmas the year it was released.

The History Channel just showed 5 hours of the story of Walt Disney. It goes from the l920's to present and is very well done. It is so interesting to see what he was like. He was always getting new ideas of things to do, even things not invented yet. Very interesting series.

I never thought of 4th of July as much of a TV viewing season, more of cookouts, beach, travel and outdoor time. Guess I'm out of step on this.
Might depend on the weather. We have rain and thunderstorms predicted most of the week.

Probably true. Our forecast here isn't looking very promising either.

I guess I just never associate much TV with summertime for whatever reason. I do remember when it was a time for big summer movies, but now it's common for us to go a year or more between visiting a movie theater.

Queen of Katwe
Jack
Mrs Doubtfire
Million Dollar Arm
McFarland USA

Had not seen these movies in quite a few years and watched over the weekend.
Would love to see Disney bring back great story telling.

Are you planning on watching the new Twisters movie? It comes out in theaters on July 19.

We watched all 7 episodes of Americas Sweethearts on Netflix last week. It’s about the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders.

Recently re-watched:
First Daughter - Katie Holmes plays the daughter of President Michael Keaton. Very sweet, Disney-ish movie directed by actor Forrest Whitaker.
It's free on Plex. You can watch directly from your browser. Nothing to download:

Now watching The Great American Baking Show on the Roku Channel. Roku is a streaming device, TV and also a channel. You can watch directly from your browser. Nothing to download:

Roku also has the first 7 Seasons of the original The Great British Baking Show: 🥰

Roku is also showing two episodes of Celebrity Bake Offs. While these episodes have the same two hosts as the Great British Baking Show, it doesn't quite have the charm of the original series, which I love. The pace is faster and we don't quite seem to get to know the contestants the way we do in the British series.

We watched A Quiet Place last weekend and the sequel A Quiet Place 2 today.

We re-watched that too, last week. It's a great movie series. Not sure if I want to watch super large aliens in the movie theatre. :scared:

I’ve seen the ads for this show and am interested in watching it.
