What are your favorite shoes to wear in the parks?

I have been wondering what kind of shoes to pack to wear while walking around the parks. We do so much walking! i want to be comfortable. I keep hearing a lot about crocs, what do you think?:confused3

I used to always go in my tennis shoes- NOT NEW ONES- to avoid blisters. Do you know what a pain that is if you ride a wet ride and/or it rains and you're walking around in wet socks and tennies? No fun.

So then I tried crocs- which are great to walk around in but if you walk/run around ALL day long commando- make sure they aren't going to give you blisters. Mine weren't new or anything (not even close) but that much walking gave me blisters (and the kids- not DH though! weirdo -he hardly ever worse his crocs before the trip too! Ours were broke in- his weren't. you figure that one out LOL) -the blisters on me and kids were on the inside ankle bone where it rubs there. So back to tennies shoes that trip.

Since then? Our last trip (DL) and several trips to Six Flags I finally gave it up and just wore my most comfortable shoes evah... (crocs- but flipflop kind). yes I have to remove them for rides where my feet dangle and yes my feet get dirty- but they DON'T HURT in any way shape or form so people need to just not look at my feet and I try to wash them when I can. haha As I get older and at this stage in my life I'm more about comfort than looks. ;) (the kids just wear different things each day and not the same shoes each day- various different crocs, tennies, flipflops, etc. They seem to do better with switching things up and not wearing the same thing day after day all day at the parks)

I'm sure that was a great help to you huh?
I need to find a store around here that has the tevas/etc. sandals everyone keeps talking about. I have to TRY them on to see if they'll fit right but it seems everyone swears various sandals are great. Crocs really are great- except the regular bulky looking kind give me blisters in that one area on both feet (inner foot bone below the ankle- know what bone I'm talking about?). The croc is too high there- needs to be a bit lower or higher or something. I'm always surprised no one else complains about this? It didn't do it just to my feet- my kids too! LOL

I wear Teva's. I have a pair that I love. I bought them in 2002 and they have stopped making that design. They are sandals and have a lot of cushion. I can go forever in those.

I have a pair of work crocs that are uglier that sin, but the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn. No store locally carries them, so I ordered them online from crocs.com

I too am a believer in Crocs. Love them. I also bring sneakers with me(never know).

We also bring, (pre-cut in various sizes), "mole skin" into the parks with us. This stuff is a life saver if you are prone to blisters. Just put one on the blister and your good as new ! :thumbsup2

It's made by Dr.Scholls.

My family is a big fan of Crocs, but I like just about anything Skecher.

Laceless Sketchers here, they can't be beat in all the shoes i've worn around the "world". crocs will give you blisters with that much walking. don't be caught in the rain with them, you'll break your neck!

crocs all the way here, no one in my family has ever gotten blisters from them. If you are prone to blisters put body glide (pick it up at the drug store)on your feet, you wont get blisters. You cant beat crocs in the park they dry so easy after water rides. i like the croc flip flops too.

I have alot of trouble with my feet and lower back, so my shoes can make or break my day at the park. I like to wear sandals, so my favorites so far this year are Merrells (sp?) and Nurtures. The Merrells are like wearing sandal tennis shoes. They have a sole thats kind of like a Nike air sole. Both pairs provide enough cushion that I can walk all day without my back or hips hurting. When we go to the water parks, we all wear Teva's. I've never tried Crocs, but everyone raves about how comfortable they are.

I switch it up between sneakers, crocs, and sandals. My wife swears by her Clark's, which are not exactly fetching, but are extremely comfortable. Course, they're no where near as ugly a those Croc work shoes :scared1:

:santa:

I was thinking about making me some otter skin cowboy boots to wear around. :lmao:

I just got a pair of Land's End trekker sandals for our upcoming trip. I've worn fake crocs to our local amusement park for the day, but when they get wet, it was like trying to walk on ice. These should be good since they're alot like Tevas but a lot cheaper. I went to a Sears store that carries Land's End to try on what they had in stock, then went on-line to order- more selection that way. They have sandals and closed toe shoes that are kind of a cross between sandals and tennies. I'm planning on breaking them in during the next 3 weeks before we go, IF IT EVER GETS ABOVE 50 degrees UP HERE !!! ;)

Never wear Croc-offs to a park. :scared1:
just my opinion, you need the real deal for absolute comfort.

Either croc flip flops for me or well broken in sneakers!! New sneakers might look great for pictures but will give you nothing but trouble by the end of the day.

I had a step daughter that wore a pair of dressy flats all week. Her feet looked like crap by the end of the week. Somehow it became my fault. :rotfl2::confused3 So skip the fashion trend and go for comfort. :thumbsup2

My grand daughter wore her plastic "glass slippers" which came with her Cinderella dress all over the Magic Kingdom. Of course, no blisters or pain. Oh, to be young again!

I wear Teva Doziers. Most comfortable pair of shoes I've ever owned in my life!! (Walking sandals)

I alternate between wearing socks with them or not wearing socks with them.

I bought Disney crocs for the kids, and patra croc sandals for myself. I hope they fit well! My DH thinks I am nuts. He will probably wear his Keen sandals everywear. I already have tons of moleskin in the camper.

Oh is it okay if my DD disney crocs are a tad to big? sizing over the internet was tricky.

We swear by Nothinz.... similar to Crocs, but made by a different company (however not cheap knock offs). They're a little softer than the Croc material, which we find makes them a bit cushier.

They're the only shoes that save my leg/back with the miles of walking (tried everything - including ridiculously expensive "walking shoes")

If we're at WDW for a couple of weeks or so, we bring more than one pair and switch off.

But even with Croc-type shoes, still be sure to break them in well ahead of time beforehand. Worst thing you can possibly do is bring brand new shoes to WDW. :(
