What are your favorite excursions/memories on the Western cruise?

RKB - I'll try to find your post- thanks for the heads up about it. We use to live in a small outback town called Broken Hill- reverently know as Broken Hell to locals! It is in the "state"of NEw SOuth Wales- about 5 hours north of Adelaide. If you looked on a map or globe- you'd see it because it is the ONLY thing around out there!

prymsu- you may actually go through Broken Hill on your travels to ALice Springs. You'll enjoy the trip. HAve a good time.

KareBear; Have you ever heard of Tweed Heads in NSW? That's where my high school friend in now living. I hope to go there someday-she keeps begging me to visit. :D

We did the Dolphin encounter at Cozumel and had a wonderful time. We have also done the sea lion show at Chankannab. Next trip its either the jeep tour of the horseback riding.

On the ship dont miss the late night desert buffet or the bunch at Palos. If you have not tried the tropical rainforest at the spa that is another must do.

Hubby and I took our very first cruise for our anniversary last September.

I had champagne/dessert package delivered to the room for send off. I had the decoration package also...room was decorated when we arrived and champagne/dessert was there when we arrived.

We ordered champagne for our tablemates at dinner one night..as we had another anniversary couple, a set of honeymooners and some other great people at the table.

Disney didn't do anything special for our anniversary...we made it special ourselves.

You guys have some VERY good ideas- and now I don't know what I want to do!!

Doombuggie- sorry - I have never heard of that town. BUT if you have a chance to visit Australia you should. It is a beautiful country.

Webray- can you please tell me how you got the info on the packages you arranged for? I am more then willing to arrange whatever I need to and not leave it up to Disney. I just don't know where to go to get the info. Can you help with that please?

Jilli- where did you rent the jet skis from? That does sound wonderful! Did you go through the Disney excursions or find them on your own. Please be specific - we have never cruised and I don't know anything!

For those of you that snorkled- was it worth the time/money? Did you see alot and really enjoy it? Any good photo ops?

I do know I want to ride the banana boat!

Has anyone done theTulum ruins tour? I am thinking about it for our October cruise but the trip is an all day event and it sounds like there are so many other great things to do in Cozumel.

Another vote for Mr. Sanchos in Cozumel. What a great beach! Loved the straw roofed umbrellas at the tables. And the pool is such a nice bonus if you don't want to swim in the salt water. Beware though, the food you get from the bar is expensive! Your tab will run high very quickly if you're not careful.

Next time we do the western I'm going to try the Tulum ruins tour or Xcaret. I would love to see some ruins!

Oh, and I have to mention Carlos and Charlies. What a wild and crazy place. We didn't realize how wild it was and took our 3 kids in there for lunch. We really enjoyed ourselves but some of the stuff we saw wasn't appropriate for children. I can only imagine how it gets at night!

KareBear....we rented the jet skis from a place called "KeyCat Rentals" I believe they have a website...like www.keycatrentals.com. They were about a five minute walk from the pier...they were wonderful to us...2 jetskis in our group collided and the owners of the company were definetly more concerned about the people who were on those jetskis than they were about the accident. You can also rent jetskis right at the pier in KeyWest.

Bonnie.....we found the food at Mr Sanchos to be really inexpensive...we were a group of about 26 people who all had several beers/soda and food and our bill came to about $250!! The food was really good too.
