As a teacher I see all sorts of names go through my classroom. Can't say that I'm a fan of the weird spellings or boys names for girls. Can get quite confusing!!

Oh I have a ton of girls names that I like, problem is DH does not like any of them!

We decided on Lorelei Anna, nickname Rory (yes, from the Gilmore Girls, excpet they spell it Lorelai) for our DD. With baby #2 on the way...we have not agreed on any girls names at all.

DH likes Reagan, it is OK...but not on my short list.

I love reading all the different names given in America - some are really unusual, and others we never hear of here in the UK. (Some are quite old-fashioned here, too!)
My DD 9 is Ellie Mae. When we picked her name we didn't know anyone else with that name, but in the last few years it has become more popular.

Had we had a daughter, I loved Elisabeth Angel (Angel is a family name). I'd just like to have a Betsy...I think all the old names are coming back again. My grandmothers names are Grace and Edna, and I've seen a couple of baby Ednas, and plenty of Graces!

After 39yrs, I finally realize I really like my name, Mercedes. No middle name.

I also like Emma, always liked Elizabeth.

I was one of those kids with a "different" name so I know what it is like! My name is Reynic (pronounced REH-nick). It was "made up" from combining 2 family names. Still, I am comfortable with it. My mother also gave us 2 middle names so we ended up with 4 total! And my married name, makes 5!

We like family names and gave both the girls relative's names. My oldest is Jacqueline after her dad (Jack) and my maiden name. the baby is Alexandria Cory McClure ******* after my g-grandfather Alexander, my g-grandmother Cory and my Grandmommy's family name.


I also work in schools and it really colors your opinion of names. It would be hard to name a child a name that you have seen 4 of in one classroom. I actually have 3 boys on my caseload that have the SAME first AND last names!! I kid you not and 2 of them are in the same grade

If I ever had another, she would most likely be a Lily. Middle name undecided.

Funny thing about my Emma Rose... she recently had her name changed due to the fact that her middle and last names were family names from her father's side, long story short: our marriage was annulled, he disappeared and I did not want her carrying "his" names. It took almost two years, but hers was the first case in the state of Kansas where a child was able to get a name change without consent from the father.

Hadley came from when I worked in a day care in high school, there was a little girl with that name, her middle name is a family name (mine and my mothers)

DD is Emerson Claire (my grandmother's name).

If I had another girl (hope DH isn't reading this ) I think I'd do a little more traditional....I like Caroline a lot. I think it's really sweet.
