I have 3 DS:
Eric David
Adam Robert
Ross Anthony
We have a long last name, so I wanted short first names with no question about pronounciation and no nicknames. I grew up with a nickname and have always found it difficult at school, doctor's offices, etc. They's call my real name and I wouldn't answer because I never used it!
I also like strong sounding names for boys - good for their future work environment. I also don't like names that can be used for either a boy or a girl - we have 2 Dana's in our elementary school - 1 boy and 1 girl and they hate it!
All 3 of my boys' middle names are family names: David is my dad and Eric's godfather (uncle); Robert is DH and DFIL; Anthony is DH's grandfather. When pregnant with DS3 I was nearing my due date and still had no idea for a name. You guessed it - I was watching "Friends" and the name Ross just clicked!!
