I'm excited about the P&PP because it's fun to do something new.

Mostly, though, I'm just looking forward to getting away. Life has been stressful lately and we need a break.

I am most excited about finally having the opportunity to stay at the Animal Kingdom Lodge, in the DVC Villas. Thank you DVC for finally making rooms available at this resort :) I am not excited though about the expensive flights for President's week, but I guess i'll keep checking! Maybe there will be some miracle via Southwest, you never know. I am also excited about going back to WDW, we went to Disneyland/California Adventure in May for five days, but there is just nothing like a trip to WDW in Florida! Happy dance

First off, I'm excited that we go tomorrow! Whoop!

Secondly, I'm excited for my DH to see it all. When I took the kids with grandparents last year, DH had no interest in the trip and stayed home to work. Even after returning and showing him our pictures and telling him, he didn't seem interested. I didn't think I'd ever get him there.

This broke my heart, as I fell in love with WDW last year. I cried tears of joy at the looks on my kids' faces, I cried tears of joy at the sights, the sounds, the entire Disney atmosphere. Even though it was incredibly hot, it was the best vacation I'd ever had. And I've been a lot of good places! But it broke my heart that DH had no interest in sharing it.

Then this summer, DH's best friend died in a drowning accident. It really hit DH hard, and he wanted to start making some changes in his life. He wanted to really live every day. We had been discussing vacations before that happened, and every time I'd suggest Disney, he wasn't interested and didn't believe we wanted to go back already. Well, his friend who passed had a vacation to the Poly scheduled for the next weekend. They mentioned at the funeral that at that exact time he was supposed to be with his 4 year old daughter at Cinderella's Royal Table for breakfast. They talked about the joy his friend had gotten from the planning, and how excited he was about the trip. And how of all his family gathering, he was the only one who had upgraded his room to a Lagoon view, and how he was razzing the rest of the family about how they would have to pay admission to watch Wishes from his balcony.

The day after the funeral, DH asked me if it was really that special. When I said yes, with tears in my eyes, he booked the trip. A full week at the WL. He couldn't bring himself to do the Poly, but wanted to be close.

I know it will be an emotional trip for DH, but I also hope it provides some healing and some magic. I know it will.

1. Being able to pay for my mother's vacation, and having her experience WDW for the first time.

2. DS (4) going on BTMR, Splash Mountain, and KRR. He'll go on anything with his grandmother, and she'll go on everything!!

3. Le Cellier. After trying for weeks to get a reservation for dinner, we got 5:45 on the day we arrive!

5. Staying at Pop for the first time.

I am most excited that we will be going with friends and family this time. First we are going down with another family who has a 2 year old son close to my DD's age and our DS 16 will be bringing his best friend.
Then after they leave we are staying and my father and step-mother are joining us for a few days to see my DD's in the world.
Finally then they are leaving and we will be there for 4 additional nights just as the immediate family.
That brings us to 12 nights with people we love and some really family alone time. I can't wait!

I can't wait to go to the Pirate and Princess party on the 21st of August. We have never been before so I can't wait. Plus my little ones are 2 and 4 now so they are really into it this year. To top it all off we are going with good friends that have never gone before so to see them have a great time will be a gift all in itself..

I think I'm most excited about going with my friend from college. She and I were the dynamic duo for years, inseparable. Then came graduation, grad school in another town, finally marriages and careers that took us to different states. After a few years having lost touch, we found each other again. She was a Disney nut long before I met her and before I'd made my frist trip to Disney (as an adult, no less!). Even though we're separated by 1500 miles, a few state lines and the Mississippi River, we're close.
Thanks to a good job and affordable airfare, we get to visit now. When she came up in May, we both talked about past trips to Disney, how much my DD enjoyed it, how many years it had been since she'd made a trip to WDW. On a whim, we planned a Disney trip together. Free dining, discount airlines and a value hotel all fell into place. My DD is coming along because they totally adore each other too. They both love Disney, Barbie, the Beatles and all things pink. Two princesses and me.... storming the world. It's going to be so great sharing WDW with my daughter and my BFF.

1. My son is back from Iraq (his coming home party)!!!!!!!!

Congratulaions on your son coming home from Iraq. What a fabulous was to celebrate and decompress. Give him a big thank you from my family, would you? Regardless of my position on the war, I'm grateful that there are brave men.

Most excited about takind DD (4) for her first trip!

Excited about spending time with DH, who never takes vacation!

First trip on site (only 2nd trip ever!)

Bummed about... DS (16) absolutely not wanting to go. :confused3
He is staying home with Grandpa.

Since you posted this yesterday, that means you're there today. So you won't see this until you get back. But I wanted to say how incredibly moving your post was. I am so sorry for your DH's loss of his best friend! I bet this will be such a healing trip for him...especially as he realizes the importance of being with family. One thing I've learned is that it doesn't matter how uninterested I am in going to a particular place...it's just important that I am with the one I love (my DH). Life is too short to miss out on opportunities to spend such precious time with him.

Enjoy these magical moments!!!
