Now Normally I just stick to Victorian Xmas list, however; the necklace I bought my girls was open heart necklace w/ diamond angel wings and brothers birthstone, as he passed suddenly in Sept. These were over budget but I figured it was allowed this year!:littleangel:

My teen daughter's (14) list is even more extensive and expensive than last year's. She's asking for clothes mostly and from places like Hollister, American Eagle, and Victoria's Secret (I started something last year by buying her first bra from there and now all of her undies and bras have to come from there). She's also asking for lounging clothes, when I read that I thought to myself "what 14yr old asks for lounge clothes? What is this 1977?

She also wants a new Vera Bradley tote and a new charm for her Pandora bracelet. I also got her a hard copy of Les Miseribles and a Fandago gift card to see the movie during the winter break. Oh and she wants ear rings and a jewelry box. Not to mention she needs a new winter coat.

All that and I still have to shop and buy for her 7yr old little sister and my fiance. I'll be broke by 2013, happy New year to me. LOL

My youngest is 17, but still a teen, so...

She's a geek, so thinkgeek.com got a lot of my money this year.
Star Trek Enterprise pizza cutter
Edison vs Tesla baby doll t-shirt
Dr. Who 2013 calendar
TARDIS journal
Van Gogh TARDIS poster
TARDIS string lights
Gryffindor house scarf
Firefly baby doll t-shirt
Portal video game companion key chain

Non-thinkgeek stuff:
500 gb external hard drive
pencil sketch set
bluetooth stereo headphones
portable wireless speakers for her Iphone

That's it so far. I plan on getting her some things for college. Probably will get a collapsible hamper and fill it with basic necessities.

A few people asked about good books for teen girls. Here are some that DD and her friends (ages 14-18) really loved. And as a mom I loved them too.

Anything by John green but especially Looking for Alaska and the Fault in Our Stars.
Raven Boys
Why We Broke Up
The Fallen series by Lauren Kate
Before I fall
Before I die by Jenny Downham
You against me
Beautiful Creatures (there are 2 other books in this series)
Vampire Academy series

Hope this helps some of you.

Quoting you again because I just found something. Latest Vlog brothers where John recommends books for gift giving:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

DD shows me his youtube stuff all the time, so I thought I would take a look and there it was. Excellent timing.

So maybe check some of these out. I just remembered there is a poster she wanted with one of his book quotes on it, and she saw (and met) Alex Goot, Luke Conrad, and Chad Sugg this weekend, so I think I'll frame her signed ticket and put the pictures of her getting hugs from them in it if I can secretly get them away from her!
Mama's getting' creative:thumbsup2. I was stuck for ideas and now I am bursting with them!

Oh and got a great idea for dd's best friend now too and will look for the TARDIS journal!:)

Thanks! I did get the Macy's coupon so I'm going to check there as well as Nordstrom online.

For the Beats headphones I bought my dd, I also bought insurance on them as well just in case.

Beats are not wireless, correct? I found some wireless ones: SYNC by 50cent that seem to have pretty good reviews. I'm thinking the wireless may be a better option. Any opinion?

Of course, she might hate them. But maybe I'll keep them for me at the gym, lol.

Off to sign up for Victoria's Secret to hope for a $10off coupon!

My dd (almost 15) is getting
ski jacket and pants
ski boots bag
VS pink sweats and Tee
hair curling wand
coach purse
wreck me journal
hunger games DVD and companion books
bunch of duck tape and project book
Sims Seasons game

In her stocking
Katy Perry perfume
Itunes card
earbuds
bacon band-aids
make-up
eyelas curler
brush for wet hair

this is a great idea !! can you tell me which book you purchased? Thanks!

Correct. Beats are not wireless. :)
I'm not familiar with SYNC. I bought the Beats because that's what was on her list for the 2nd year in a row lol.

Wow, I'm amazed at the size of these lists! My family is fighting tooth and nail to get a list from my 14 year old niece. She is only asking for money. But at the same time, she's complaining that she'll have nothing to open on Christmas morning....ugh, teenagers!

I thought she was getting hard to buy for because of her age. But this thread is proving that wrong! Guess there's a picky teen in my family, lol. :rotfl2:

I got my niece a small makeup kit from Ulta. Got her mother's approval, of course! ;) Other than that, I think she's just getting money from everyone else. DH and I already gave her $$ for her October B-Day, so I wanted to give something else for Christmas.

One thing I am getting her that no one else has mentioned is the Cutest pink fridge for her study or bedroom. I loved this thing! has a mini freezer too and in babydoll pink! Going to put Arnold Palmer lites in there! :)

Last year, I got dd15 (14 then) a really nice make-up kit from Sephora. Must have had about a hundred colors of everything in it. It was $50 online, but it has been really well used. Gives her a chance to try different things without spending a fortune of stuff she ends up not liking.

.

This may be completely off topic but from the bottom of my heart... THANK YOU!!!!!!! I had never heard of "think geek" before and struggle with gifts to give my brother-in-law every single year. The BACON section alone gave me enough ideas for 4 Christmases with him!!! Plus, my husband, brother, and sons would love many, many items from there. I'm like a kid in a candy store right now. Thank you!!!

My DD16 will be getting...

Vera Bradley luggage piece
Itunes GC
Pandora charm
Lululemon yoga mat and towel

not sure about stocking stuffers

It's hard as they get older and what they wants is so expensive...

Wow! Your kids are all truly blessed that they have such lavish gifts to be thankful for.
With the passing of my husband and the loss of my job, Christmas will be limited to some body spray from B&B and a couple t-shirts from Aero for my 13 year old.
I am thankful she understands but the feeling of not being able to provide the types of things she wants (ie Ipad) is a feeling that sits in the pit of your stomach.
I hope you all know how blessed you are :thumbsup2

Material things are just that. Things. Family is the real blessing. I hope your daughter knows how blessed she is to have YOU! That you have each other.

I hope your Christmas is beautiful and filled with love! :goodvibes
