I think this is about the age where kids start to split into those who still like toys and dolls, and those who like older things. So, it really depends on your daughter. Mine is turning 7 in November, and she is more on the younger age. She still loves princesses, drawing, dolls, etc. She wants her birthday party at Build A Bear. It's fine; I'm in no rush for her to grow up.
This ~ my 6 year old DD is also into the younger stuff still. So far I have gotten her a John Smith doll and Pocahontas' clothes from the
Disney Store (she has Pocahontas and the dolls have been 2 for 18). She really doesn't need anymore barbies, but I thought this was a good compromise! The problem is, she plays with the same types of things ~ barbies, small prinecesses, etc. I think I am going to get her, and my other 2, each one of the toddler princess dolls, they are $15 at Wal-Mart. Probably some princess squinkies; some kind of craft and books and a game. I also bought her a few nightgowns (7.99 at disney store). She has been eyeing the Lalaloopsy treehouse thing ~ problem is she only occassionally plays with the dolls, but I'm sure if she had the set she would play with it more.
