I lost the other thread and thought it'd be nice to start a new one weekly anyway.

This week I shredded up some leftover chicken, put some taco seasoning on it and froze it. That will make a quick dinner one night.

Yesterday I baked muffins and waffles and froze them.

Instead of throwing them out I sold some of DH's worn out military uniforms on craigslist.

I sat down one day and cashed out rewards from various websites, called lifetouch and got a refund for pictures I had already paid for, but DS was sick for picture day, and cancelled a magazine subscription.

I did my grocery shopping on Wednesday this week. Normally I shop on Saturday or Sunday since DH gets paid on Friday and that is when my budget is replenished. Because of this by Friday of the next week we are usually out of anything to make for dinner so we always get take-out. By going on Wednesday we will have enough for dinner through the weekend so there will be no take-out tonight.

Today I am finally completing paperwork to apply for a grant for extra-curriculars that my kids are eligible, I can't believe I've put it off this long!

Bought up some cheap bulk hamburger meat for $1 a pound. This week was not as great as most :/

Continuing to pump breastmilk (daughter does not nurse correctly) so I don't have to buy formula.

5 times a day...........

6 months down...6 months to go

We're not going out to eat.

Our free entertainment for tonight is renting a kids' movie at the library (Space Buddies).

1)not going out to eat this week
2) planning meals on what i currently have in my fridge/ pantry/freezer instead of going out and buying more groceries.

We are out of coffee... so instead of going to the store to buy some and whatever else I pick up while there... I am having my Dad bring me some! He works at a coffee shop and always has some on hand!

And tonight made dinner out of left overs! We had steak last and had left overs so I chopped some up and made steak and cheese wraps for the kids for dinner! Had fruit so we cut that up and ate it with! Everyone was happy!

Going to a wedding this weekend and instead of buying a new dress and shoes, getting hair done professionally, I am using clothes I already have, doing my own hair.

DS gets married Friday. We are in Florida enjoying some time together and helping with final preparations.

Not a frugal week!

Both DH and I have had only water to drink at the restaurant dinners we've done the last two nights. That's frugal, but when you treat three adult kids to dinner two consecutive nights, it is a pretty tiny savings compared to the spending.

We went to Publix and bought snacks to enjoy and will cook some of our meals at the condo during the week.

Oh well, next week I'll be back to saving.

So my sister just called me and told me about all the amazing deals she just got at Target and was now heading to Toys R Us and Walgreens. Well, I could have gathered the kids and taken advantage of those deals, but I decided that this week I will stay home and we will use our stash, taking a break from building the stash. We have a good supply in just about every category. We will eat and use what we have. Don't NEED anything really.

Also, with the extra time since I am not going to be running around, I will do some cleaning around here, and take a load to Goodwill, resulting in a larger tax refund next year! Will be saving gas not running from store to store as well!

OP - thanks for starting up this thread. Need to stay on track!

I switched from Fios to Cablevision. This saves me $50.00 per month and i also received a free itouch that i am planning to give to my 8 year old for christmas.

So, in sum, it saves me about 600.00 plus 200 for the itouch.

I did my daughter's hair and nails for Homecoming, saving about $75. We ate in all weekend (which is rare for us) and I'm planning on eating in all week.

My friend is coming over tomorrow to cut and color my hair. I will make or buy her lunch, but it will be much cheaper than paying to have it done in a salon!

I put down three things that I almost bought when I was out shopping yesterday.

I'm freezing tonight left overs for later in the week and am planning on using up the stuff we've been storing in the cupboards rather than going shopping.

We actually have not done any significant grocery shopping for 3 weeks now, other than Milk, bread, fruits and veggies. I have been using everything in the cabinets and freezers. I am down to one beef roast,1 pack of chicken breasts, a whole bunch of hot dogs. I made beef stew that we ate for 3 nights, chicken and dumplings for 2 nights, tonight we are having left over meatballs I had frozen last month.

That being said, unfortunately I am out of just about everything!!! (except Tuna and some soups that I just don't want to eat so I am going to drop them off at the food bank before they go bad) I have no more fruit, veggies, butter, margerine, rice, pasta (after tonights dinner) cereal, cheese, well you get the idea. The next grocery trip is going to be a whopper, but I plan on feeding my DH well before we go...:lmao:

Dh got a promotion we were expecting at work, just not sure of the timing. Because he got it last week, we are now going to the Bahamas with his company in two weeks. So on my way home from a job interview the other day (which would be good for the budget!) I had extra time and stopped by the mall. I got 2 dresses for the dinners on the trip. Normally that wouldn't be very budget friendly, but they were summer clearance, each marked down from $80 to $20. When I got to the register they were actually only $10 each! Plus one can definitely be reworn for a family wedding next spring! :thumbsup2
