What are you doing differently for your resort stay to make this unique trip enjoyable?

I'm curious what everyone's thoughts are on modifying your adventure to make your upcoming stay as much fun as possible. Given the various limitations, have you had any ideas of unique items to pack, changes to your normal resort fun, food to bring or prep, or ways to get around that are different than what you normally plan?

We have a split stay booked in July, and our mantra seems to be "8 days at Disney doing anything will be better than 8 days in our house." That said, I want it to be as fun as possible.

We changed our plans almost entirely for this trip, due to the uncertainty & restrictions. We were going to do a split stay onsite, but cancelled that in favor of staying at Four Seasons Orlando for the first time. We're going to rent a car to avoid transportation hassles, which we've never done during a resort stay before. We've also branched out to Universal for the first time. We'll stay two nights at their Cabana Bay Beach Resort, and spend a day at their Volcano Bay water park. It was so effortless to book the Universal hotel & park tickets in comparison with Disney- like night & day. We will also visit Disney if we can get reservations, but we're making the trip regardless.
