We are only having 6 people over so I am thinking of having heavy appetizers or maybe a pulled pork but I haven't decided yet.
What are you serving? I need some inspiration!

We are having a small gathering and pretty much just doing chili and tortilla chips.

I'm thinking chili and maybe nachos...... But I won't actually watch the game, I just like the food:rotfl:

We make the best wings I've ever tasted. I follow a Hooters recipe I found online and we have deep fryers. So, we're doing that and a tray of Primo's Hoagies, homemade mac and cheese, queso and tortilla chips and that'll be it. We'll have chips and pretzels and brownie bite-type little sweets.

Can I hijack this thread for a moment? Is 35-40yo too old for jello shots? I haven't had Jello shots in years but feel like making them. When is one too old for Jello shots?

I tucked an extra ham in the freezer at Christmas time [97 cents a pound] and will bake it for hand carved ham sandwiches, potato salad and brownies. My friends are bringing dishes to share...beans, fruit salad, pre-dinner snick-snacks, etc.

I'm going to get a pork shoulder - put it in the crockpot with some "liquid smoke" (love that Alton Brown showed that it truly is gathered from real smoke - not artificial! It adds to my quick fast pulled pork!) till it "pulls" then add a bottle of BBQ sauce!!

and have pulled pork with a side of cole slaw.

Appetizers watched The Chew on tv, and they did a BLT dip that sounds great, and Hidden Valley Ranch has a hot ap with won ton wrappers and sausage - I'm just not in the mood for Mexican or nachos or tacos or Mexican seasoning (guacamole, corn chips of any kind)

and someone on the Community Board posted a dip that Pioneer Woman also has - Cookie Dough Dip!! (served for a dessert with Teddy Grahams or Graham Crackers!)

Still debating!

No you are never too old for jello shots! You may be too old for the hangover that follows, but not the jello shots themselves!

Domino's pizza (DS's choice, not mine!), wings, chips, some kind of dessert??? Brownies or Chocolate chip cookies. Really, not sure what all.

So far...

ds12 wants buffalo wings

ds10 wants mini tacos - use SCOOPS! instead of taco shells

Boring! I know! We'll be looking around for a few more exciting things to add.

I am an over plannner :lmao:

There will be 10 people total. So far we will be providing pizza, wings, homemade hot pretzels with honey mustard dipping sauce, chips, dip, veggie tray, and chicken wing dip, mini cupcakes, and cookies. :scared1:

I know that taco dip, meatballs, and shrimp is being brought.

we will have a lot of food. I hope my waistline can hold up against this assault :rolleyes1

Wings
Ham & swiss roll-ups
Layered bean dip & tortilla chips
Veggie tray
Veggie pizza

Yes, I have to think about pesky vegetarians.

We invited way too may people to stop by and have no clue how many will come. Everyone will bring stuff.

We have so far:
wings
pigs in the blanket
Fruit tray
taco salad
brats
brownie bites
cup cakes
blond brownies
chip and dip
And who knows what else!!!

We are going out for a huge pizza lunch with our oldest who is coming to visit from college. So, we are just doing snacky things for Super Bowl!

An hot asiago cheese hummus dip dh found online
Guacamole and salsa
Spinach artichoke dip pastry cups
Tortilla chips and lightly grilled baguettes for dipping
My people requested chocolate cake for dessert! Odd...but okay! :rotfl:

This one has been a little tricky to say the least. I am trying to cut down the fat and calories to stick with my healthy eating commitment, 2 of my girls have decided they no longer eat meat, and hubby won't eat any meal without meat, LOL. Cooking this year has been an adventure!

What I've come up with so far:

Lower calorie wings with blue cheese dip (courtesy of Ellie Krieger)
Recipe if anyone is interested :)

Chicken skewers with yogurt/roasted red pepper dip

Roasted red pepper hummus with veggies

Potato puffs (actually got this one from Pioneer Woman, but I will be lightening up the recipe dramatically)

Hungry Girl's onion rings

Deviled eggs

Taquitos

And of course, a football cake ;)
