What Are You Celebrating?? Air Conditioning!! A July 2010 TR UPDATE 12/11 p24

Signing up!:thumbsup2

The meal at CG looks yummy. I LOVE the crab legs. Hmmm.... My mouth waters just looking at that picture. We had some on our last trip (At Cape May Cafe) and it was definitely a highlight.

Anyways, can't wait tor read more.

Q

Great updates Sheree!! :goodvibes Love the BC room pictures! And the CG looks very good. We thought about having dinner there since we will be at the BWI, but decided on a Cape May dinner instead. Hope we like it!

Can't wait for more! popcorn::

Great update. Your food at the CG looked really yum and what a great way to spend the evening. The pool there looks so wonderful. The girls look that were having a blast!

BC looks dreamy! :cloud9: I love that little Mickey in the lifeguard chair lamp. So cute- that's got to be available online somewhere.

As far as your dinner- those crab legs looks delicious. So much yummier than the Lean Cuisine I just ate. ;) I have to agree with you on the cheesecake presentation. Let's just say I change a lot of diapers in my line of work and I can see where you're coming from :rolleyes1

I would totally buy it for my Disney room (that has yet to be started in reality, but is very cute in my mind!)

:rotfl:LOL!

I'm hoping to get another update going this weekend. It's been a busy week, and I am busy reading too many other great TRs and PTRs. HA!

Okay Miss Impatient!! I'll have you know that we had some FABULOUS weather and I had to be OUTSIDE more this weekend! I will get to work on my update straight away!!! I don't type them out ahead of time, so it takes me a while to write and stick in pictures.

Before I start on Thursday - I forgot one thing. Wednesday evening as I was getting ready for bed, I went to take out my contacts. Remembered the solution, my glasses, but... Even the expert packer must forget something right? No case for the contacts! So I sent my dear DH (I was already in my jammies) down to the Marketplace to find me a new case! $3 later, I was able to take out my contacts.
With that, I was able to get comfy in the big bed and get some shut eye. Now, the plan was to get up and go to EMH at Magic Kingdom! I wanted to take advantage of the nice cool (ha!) morning and hit some rides before our big surprise breakfast.
We'd be able to get in at 8:00!
Woke up at 6:45!! That was too late for me! I showered quick and woke the kids and made it to the bus stop at 7:30. I am fairly certain we just missed a bus because we had to wait a bit. Chatted with a nice young man CM (he was on the college program, so I can call him young). He was super friendly although I kept wanting to tell him to call for an express to MK bus!!
We left BC at 7:58!! GRRRR!!! I should be at the gate right now!
Then, we stopped at BW! More GRRRR! The bus was fairly full already, and then we had to let on all the people to stand. We still didn't have enough room for all the people that were waiting at BW, so they called for another bus and told them that, uh, no , we're not stopping at Swan/Dolphin! (Thank God).
We arrived at MK at 8:20. While I was trying not to be stressed about "losing precious time", I just told myself to relax. Go with the flow, don't worry about it. We're not on a mission (sort of).
We were hungry so we stopped at the MK bakery. This could become a tradition! I love that place!

I didn't want the kids to eat TOO much, since I knew we had a big meal in a couple hours.
So we just filled up on sugary sweets!

I must have been in my "let's not waste time" mode, because I don't seem to have any pictures of our food! (I know - bad DISer)
We got donuts, a BIG cinnamon roll, a chocolate croissant (Sarah HAD to have one!), fruit and ice water. DH thought the fruit would be a good idea, and while well-intended, the girls were not at all interested in it! We'd just started our vacation - we were not yet sick of eating junk!
After our mini-breakfast, we headed out to Main Street USA , dodged these folks,
DSCN2070.jpg

and had our traditional photopass picture taken with the castle in the background. I'm waitng on my CD order and I'll do a post of Photopass pictures later.
So we headed to Fantasyland. Looked a little different than it used to...some large walls, scaffolding...definitely a work in progress. But, we still managed to find our way to the proper line for Winnie the Pooh (it's not all that obvious!), Snow White, Peter Pan, It's a Small World.
DSCN2071.jpg

This guy was waving and dancing - he was going a little crazy!!

Hardly any waiting for all the FL rides!!
Then we headed to Pirates of the Carribean to see if we had time before our ADR. The girls were trying to guess where we were eating. I gave them some very vague clues.
1) We'd never eaten there before
2) it was in Magic Kingdom
We rode POTC and then had to hustle to be on time for our 10:15 ADR (not early at all!). They guessed the castle when we were about half way there!
We checked in and were called within 5 minutes (I told you we were not early!) It is so beautiful in there - I am really glad we decided to try it. The only complaint I had was they had the wrong CM calling out names - you totally could not understand her! Everyone was saying, "who did she call?"

The CM was nice enough to take a family picture with our camera too. You can tell by my hair and "glow" that we were already hot and sweaty that morning. It felt so nice and cool in the castle!
When it was time to go to eat, we were told to head up the circular staircase. I made a mental note that before we left, I wanted to stop in the bathrooms there. I had a feeling they would be unlike the rest of the bathrooms at MK!
We were seated at a table (half booth) next to a family with a girl about 6 celebrating her birthday. They were southern, and I got a kick out of listening to her mom's accent! She got a cupcake (for breakfast!), but didn't eat much of it. She had a cute headband and dress with pink animal print mickey heads on it. (we will encounter this dress again!)
We ordered from our wonderfully friendly CM - I had the stuffed french toast, DH had the eggs/meat plate and the girls had eggs, bacon and french toast sticks. We all shared pastries and fruit (HA) to start the meal. The OJ was so fresh (yes, I remember, it is Florida!) yummy! I also asked if I could get iced coffee and that was brought out quickly too.

Waiting for food...or princesses...

DSCN2085.jpg

Not the best picture - and that's our neighboring table family, but the building is so pretty!

The girls were each given a plastic wand and a "wishing star". The princesses came around one by one and they did a "wishing star ceremony". It was cute.
more pictures to come...(sorry they're so big - I better go to medium!)

First to visit was Aurora...funny story - on our kids' first trip to WDW, we saw Aurora over in UK - all alone and she signed their autograph book, "Princess Aurora". DH and I had NO IDEA who that was! We had to ask someone else later! Rookies...

Ariel stopped by next and was interested in seeing the girls' pins.

Then Jasmine (all the Dads' favorite) came over.

Paige's favorite - Belle visited next! I love the look on Paige's face in this picture!

This was the part they closed their eyes and made a wish.

Looks like Belle was doing a little wishing dance!

We really enjoyed our meal at Cinderella's Royal Table. We used two TS credits for it, which for us, worked out fine since we were on the DxDP. We ate plenty, got a nice picture but I don't know that I'd use 2TS otherwise for it. I'd probably pay OOP. The dinner menu didn't excite me, so I'm glad we did breakfast. That's where we get the most for our money with our kids - they love breakfast foods!

We did stop in the bathrooms on the way out - they were tiny (only 2 or 3 stalls), but very pretty!

After CRT we headed to Frontierland. This was the big day! We were going to ride Big Thunder Mountain Railroad!! At least that was the plan! Both girls were ready and willing to do it. I'd never done it before either!
We didn't want to wait too long standby, so we got Fastpasses and hopped a raft over to Tom Sawyer's Island. Another first for us! We didn't find any paintbrushes (it was rather late by then) and the girls were a little too afraid to venture into the caves, but it was fun to wander around.

We went back to BTMRR and made it through the line. I rode with Paige and Dave with Sarah.

DSCN2113.jpg

30 minute standby? Uh, no thanks, we'll go Fastpass!

Oh my gosh - it was so fun and fast! I kept thinking it was almost over, but it wasn't! Paige and I did get a little queasy toward the end, but it didn't last.
We stopped for a frozen lemonade and walked back through Liberty Square. Decided to skip the Hall of Presidents (no real interest in seeing Obama).
We had more to do in Fantasyland!!

OOOhhhhh!! Love the update!!! Isn't that castle the best? It's soooo pretty!! I hate that it's 2 TS credits too,but we usually do it anyway...not this trip-the 2 boys begged not to have to go again!! LOL.. I skipped the HoP last time too, for the same reason--first time I have ever skipped it on a trip! I do love the entryway tho'...man it's so beautiful!!!! Yes, Paige's little face is just adorable in the Belle picture-totall adoration!!!

Your pics of the CRT just made me so excited! I can't wait to eat there in a few weeks. We're doing dinner and like you, the menu doesn't really excite me. But, it's before MNSSHP, so I'm sure we'll be excited.

So happy you all rode BTMRR!! It's one of Madison's favorites (mine too). Tony and I are still trying to talk her into riding Splash again (even watched it on youtube) and getting her to try EE. We shall see!

We don't care to see the new pres in HoP either, but Madison has never experienced it. It's a nice place to cool off!

Don't you hate that panicky feeling of trying to get to a park on time even when you don't really have an absolute time to be there? I can't seem to help it! What a fun morning at the Magic Kingdom, and what a fun breakfast at the castle!!! Breakfast looks very delicious!!!

I will do replies shortly but first a brief interruption:

FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL!!! :teacher:

DSCN2718.jpg

I had taken separate pictures with little signs with the date and grade (so I don't forget when I'm scrapbooking it 5 years later!) and they were fussing with each other. I told them to act like they liked each other! Paige went for it!
It was so cold and windy here this morning - definitely felt more like October! I'm home today and mixed up some cookie dough to bake this afternoon for them - aren't I a great mom?? HA! It just worked out that I could work from home today. Usually I have to rush in late after I see them off to the bus.
I decided I would be productive today - ironing, make these bulletin boards for the trading pins, download pictures to a portable hard drive, get a haircut...We'll see how much I get done!

All of that food from CG looks delicious!!! I'd love to eat there sometime.

Your room looks so nice and just makes me want to stay at the BC even more. I'm sure I wouldn't be able to pull Madison out of Stormalong Bay!
CG was pretty good. BC is a beautiful resort - you would spend a lot of time at the pool for sure! We only got out when they made us for storms!

I think I would have tried to steal that lamp!!! How cute is that!!
I'm thinking that lamp would look cute in my yet-to-be-done Disney room!

Wonderful update....isn't the BC just beautiful? I want to (and will!!!) stay there again. ;)
Dinner looked good...mmmm those crab legs...I could eat so many of them....just don't ever seem to get filled up on them. Love the king crabs even more:thumbsup2 I agree with Wigd....check out Cape May next time for dinner...so delicious...again I could eat about 100 clams!!
Can't wait to see your DD's new ride! :thumbsup2

Tracy
I think we will try to hit CMC for dinner sometime - I love seafood - and DH and I both said it smelled so good when we walked by! I think I'd like that better than Captain's. And someday I'm going to splurge on Yachtsman's Steakhouse too!

Signing up!:thumbsup2

Q
Hi! :welcome:
I know some people think crab legs are too much work, but I think it's fun and oh - the butter!!!

Great updates Sheree!! :goodvibes Love the BC room pictures! And the CG looks very good. We thought about having dinner there since we will be at the BWI, but decided on a Cape May dinner instead. Hope we like it!

Can't wait for more! popcorn::
I'll be anxiously awaiting your report on Cape May dinner! I think we'll hit that someday.

Great update. Your food at the CG looked really yum and what a great way to spend the evening. The pool there looks so wonderful. The girls look that were having a blast!
We really enjoyed the pool - the girls could have stayed there all night! They did have a great time on this trip - even though they were complaining about the heat and being sweaty, they did so many fun new things!

Subbing! I'm enjoying your great TR!! popcorn::
:welcome: Cute Disname! I call my DD7 sweet pea! Thanks for reading!

I really thought the castle was beautiful - very well done. I don't know that we'll do it again anytime soon. I'm sure the boys would rather not go back! We haven't seen HoP in quite a few years. I had thought it would be a good break from the heat, but they didn't care (not history buffs just yet - although they did enjoy the American Adventure show this time).
Oh, my little Paige - she's such a funny kid - I can't believe I caught that moment!

Your pics of the CRT just made me so excited! I can't wait to eat there in a few weeks. We're doing dinner and like you, the menu doesn't really excite me. But, it's before MNSSHP, so I'm sure we'll be excited.

I bet you'll have a great time at CRT anyway. Maybe you'll get lucky and the food will wow you! It sounds like a fun evening.
BTMRR is a new favorite for us and the girls are demanding to ride it all the time! We're not too keen on Splash - that big drop! You are getting so close!!!!
Don't you hate that panicky feeling of trying to get to a park on time even when you don't really have an absolute time to be there? I can't seem to help it! What a fun morning at the Magic Kingdom, and what a fun breakfast at the castle!!! Breakfast looks very delicious!!!
I really have to learn to relax on that stuff. We didn't have to rush for an ADR, but I just wanted to do more when it was cooler and emptier! It's not like I won't be going back many more times and haven't been there many times already, right?
The breakfast was quite good! We love our breakfasts!!

Been there with the contacts situation- I've ended up putting mine in dixie cups before! :scared1:

Love the pic of the girls for first day of school. :goodvibes

CRT is on my wish list- it looks so fun! I'm just waiting for Em to get big enough to warrant spending that much money for breakfast. Either that or free dining! ;)

:rolleyes1 Still reading Sheree??? ;) It's Monday, and since it's a holiday I GUESS it still counts as weekend!!! ;)

Whenever you are ready my friend!! :goodvibes Just so you know I am VERY excited to know how the am emh at MK was for you!! :cool1:

I had to laugh that Ms Kimmy of all people is complaining that you're taking too long between posts. :rotfl:

Happy First Day of School! The girls look so pretty -- turquoise is definitely their color!

You are a good mom to bake cookies for them! Can I come over after school, too? :goodvibes

Thanks!
I laughed too - her report is from January! At least mine was less than two months ago! Really, I haven't even been home a month! Seems longer.

Come on over - they're in the oven now!!
I usually don't get to be home during the day, so I'm glad to do something fun.

Thanks on the girls - they do look good in bright colors! It was totally unintentional that they were both wearing that color today!

We got donuts, a BIG cinnamon roll, a chocolate croissant (Sarah HAD to have one!), fruit and ice water.

Mmmm, love those cinnamon rolls from the bakery! :lovestruc

She had a cute headband and dress with pink animal print mickey heads on it. (we will encounter this dress again!)

Uh oh, is there trouble brewing? :rolleyes1

We ordered from our wonderfully friendly CM - I had the stuffed french toast, DH had the eggs/meat plate and the girls had eggs, bacon and french toast sticks.

Yum! I really want to try breakfast in the castle next trip!

more pictures to come...(sorry they're so big - I better go to medium!)

Actually, I prefer the bigger size 'cause it's easier to see. :thumbsup2
