What are you afraid of? Unreasonable fears

Birds. Not the little tiny ones at the feeder, but parrot size and up. I seriously don't like parrots. Those beaks can crack nuts, what could they do to your fingers??? They poop everywhere and spread who knows what is in their waste....ewww..:scared1:

We have a small parrot who is the sweetest thing. I use to take her to the playground along with DD(now 6.5 but 4 at the time). Tico, who is fully flighted would occasionally decide to fly onto someone's shoulder and make friends. She knows not to poop on people and usually introduces herself by saying "peek-a-boo".

Everyone at the park just loved her. Then one day she landed on a lady with a bird phobia. I've not taken her back since, as I felt so bad. I really had know idea that this phobia exists.

I do feel a little discriminated against as so many folks bring their dogs and let them run around. As much as I love dogs, I've recently developed a terrible dog allergy and have to make sure to stay away from them.

I can relate to the something happening to my daughter. She went back to college yesterday, and my fear is that something will happen to her and I will never see her again!

It's terrible! I just don't think anyone can take care of her the way I can, and she had a traumatic birth (wasn't breathing, such the drama queen!) so my fears kind of sprout from that. She just rolls her eyes at me and tells me I worry too much. :)

I also worry that I will fall down and break my teeth. And no, I don't have Timmy Turner-ish teeth.

:scared1:Im scared of puking or seeing anyone else puke.
I am also terrified of mice! Probably stems from sitting down on the toilet as a kid and seeing a huge mouse floating in the bowl below me :scared1:

Puking freaks me out completely. I handled child birth and appendicits but throwing up makes me act like a baby......OK here is one and I hope I don't freak anybody out but I have a fear of the monorail "falling off" the rail and splashing down into the water and being stuck inside those carts and slowly drowning.....AAGGHHHH....I swear everytime I ride the monorail that scenario goes through my mind.....I know I'm crazy but you asked!!!

I have that monorail fear as well! And I used to work at Disney! The worst was one day I was riding it and apparently the kids in the cockpit were not well behaved. I don't think the driver realized the mic was still on. We could hear everything. The kids were yelling, you could hear him tell them to, "get off of that," and then you heard the mom say, "now look. You broke it." I was never so glad to get of the monorail in my life.

My fears are completely irrational and I am not sure why I am so scared but here goes.

I am terrified of cotton! Not like cotton clothes, or table clothes etc but liek the actual cotton plant, cotton balls, q-tips, the cotton they stuff intot he top of pill bottles. Ugh just the thought is giving me the chills. Something about the way it feels.. it makes my teeth hurt... if that makes any sense

My other fear is of cartoons. I am not scared of anything on Disney or Noggin for instance, but any of the stuff on cartoon, a couple of nicktoons (especially older ones like ren and stimpy and rockos modern life) Family guys, and if anyone has ever seen the tv show "Lucky Louie" you know the opening sequence with the cartoon people? OMG I couldnt even listen to the music because I could picture it in my head... Gives me nightmares!!

Sorry, but you had me laughing (not with your fear but with your story...I can just imagine everyone's thoughts on the Monorail :rotfl:)

Flying without my kids...if I crash and die, they will have to be raised by xh. Incidentally, I am flying to TX without them tomorrow!
I also hate those big eyed, anal probing aliens. They freak me out. I hate moths, too-they're like evil, dirty butterflies!

I'm terrified of something happening to one of my kids, but I think that is probably a pretty normal fear. Irrational fears include clowns (I can't even go near clown statues), Nutcrackers (not the tool used to crack them, but those evil wooden freaks used for Christmas decorations), and maggots. I am so totally skeeved out by maggots that I cannot take the garbage out during the summer months. I literally cannot open the top on the can because I'm afraid there will be maggots in it.

Rats and lice. When my kids were young every year they'd bring home a notice that someone in the school had lice. As soon as I saw that word on the paper I had to put it down. Good thing neither of my kids got them I'd have had to send them to my mother until they were gone. I've not had any run ins with rats I think it's that they come out at night when all is quiet. Mice are also on my list but not as bad as rats.

I hate Lightening, Hurricanes, Being in TOTAL darkness, Cockroaches, Spiders, Dying in my sleep, having a stroke, getting hit by a car while walking in the street, and Driving...I guess thats why I don't HAVE a drivers license!:confused3 I find a few of the fears of the above posters odd and funny, but I understand....

I totally would've been relieved to be done with that ride on the monorail too!!! My palms would've been sweating.......Glad to know I'm not alone in my monorail phobia/fear!!! :rotfl:

For the longest time squirrels

I think I am over them know but I am still not a big fan.

Ad there like everywhere.

The monorail.......Right, that's another one I forgot.
Yes, I am also afraid that there will be too many people seated on one side of the monorail, so that when it goes around a bend it will be lopsided and fall into the water...or onto the ground...I think the water would be worse, so I think about that more than falling to the ground.
The last time I was at Disney, the monorail was stopped over the lake for a very
long time, (not sure why it was stopped) , but I was really worrying that something was wrong and how would they get us off when we were suspended over the lake :confused3

Karen :)

When I was scheduled for one in Jan., I was very happy that an open MRI was scheduled. It was horrible. This enormous round disk above me :scared1:. All I kept thinking was that it would fall on me. Then the sounds!!! The closed MRI muffles the sound but in the open machine, the sound is amplified. All I can say is if I need another one-Xanax.

I was reminded of another one last night......spider webs......

I can deal with spiders, don't bother me to look at, squish them if needed (we find black widows in our area) but if I walk through a web, even just a strand...... I feel like I have spiders crawling all over me and can't get rid of the web feeling.

biscuit cans. They make a freaky exploding sound that makes me jump, then ooze a brain matter like substance out the side! YIKES!!!!

I couldn't even watch that Mythbusters when they put the cans in the hot car to see how hot it needed to be before they busted.:confused3

Turtles. Completely irrational. I can barely even look at a picture of one. They could jump up and bite your whole head off.

Oooooo, forgot to add the sight of a huge ship not in the water, the propellers and the massive size of the whole thing. Love Titanic movie but the scenes of the ship out of the water bobbing....... oooooo tickles up my back.
