I need some prayers and fingers crossed. We are getting ready to leave in two weeks and our motor home is not working. "Mr. Fix It" (aka Grandpa) that lives at my house tried to replace the batteries and not realizing that he was given the wrong batteries, blew it up. I don't really know what happened but it is not good. I am so worried that we will not be able to leave. We have already been through two repair men and are going to a third tomorrow. This ones seems to think that he knows what the problem is and can fix it. He will see it tomorrow. Please keep your fingers crossed for us. I need to get to Disney to escape life (and my ex) right now and to celebrate my DD's 4th birthday. Please send good thoughts our way. THANKS!!!

Yes, we did check tonight to see if there was availability at the hotels and there is. Now we have to get the dogs booked at the vets just in case. I guess that I am the only one panicing because the others are making a joke about this. But, they seem to feel confident that we have enough time. Let's hope and think positive.

Thanks for the good wishes. AuburnJen and Gatordad, I would never try to insult anyone. Plus, your eagle and gator could do a lot of damage to my elephant. Or roll of toilet paper, whichever it is!!! But, you can't fault a girl for wishing for a good season.

No news yet. The second repair man (that we love) did what he could and he was taking it to the third guy. The second and third guy feel that they will have it fixed it time. But, time is running out and I am getting nervous. I have to put my faith in them. I can tell you though that there is a national chain of auto repair stores that I will never use again. They started this whole thing by testing the original batteries on the wrong voltage and then selling us two stronger voltage batteries. The guy that tested the batteries obviously didn't know what he was doing. And being that my Dad didn't know either and was just trying to do something good, he took the new ones and put them in. Then, we called the road side service that we have through a well known camping store (this is not their fault) but their road service sent out someone that only works on 18 wheelers and is not familiar with motor homes. Why would you do that??? But, the second repair man said that he might have done more damage than Dad did. There is nothing that we can do at this point. The damage is done. I appreciate the good thoughts. We can only hope for the best.

Yes, that is exactly what happened. It was on the coach batteries. They said that they have everything working but the automatic step and the air conditioning. Hopefully next week will bring some good news.

You may have to replace the controll board on the AC and the box under the step but it sounds like everything is comming together.

I passed this information on to Grandpa and he said that he was thinking about the control board on the ac. BUT, he is not allowed to touch anything any longer so we will suggest this and the box under the step (didn't know about that) to the repair man. Thanks for the info. I have no idea what they are talking about when they talk "motor home".

Here's what I would do if it wasn't ready on time. Buy or borrow a tent and a cheap portable air conditioner, and air mattresses. Pack up the car and consider it an adventure. I have already deciced that if a full hookup site is ever not available for a last minute trip I decide to make, I will do this same thing. Would rather stay in a tent at FW than to not go at all!!!!!
