What are the tricks/tips to getting a grand villa at SSR?

We are going the summer of 2009 (July) and are considering a 3 bedroom grand villa because other families are coming too. Can we reserve the entire stay the 1st day at 11 months out or can we only reserve the 1st night and the call back the next day for the 2nd night and so on? This seems tedious to me but it I think I read somewhere this is the best way to get what you want. We will probably be staying for 5 nights.

You have to either call day by day or wait until the last day and do it all at once. It may seem tedious but day by day calling works well for high demand rooms.

Even if in the past SSR GV's have been available for whole stay bookings, each year brings more SSR owners as well. I would probably book day by day if I were going over 4th of July.

I didn't book my BCV 2 bedroom dedicated with 2 Q's stay for November on a day by day basis. I was willing to take a chance, for me that was daring. It worked, so maybe you will want to wait until the end. Really, I don't think you would be on a waitlist at 11 months from practically DAY 1.

I have booked a Grand Villa Twice at SSR. The first time was during Spring Break of 2006. The second is for the this coming June. I booked both day by day at the 11 month window and had no problems at all. I always call first thing in the morning (as soon as MS opens). The first call is always the longest but after that it takes just a few minutes. I always found it to be fast and painless.

Remember, if you book day by day, you book each day by the day you would check out for that day, not the day you check in. So if you are starting your trip on July 1 (check out the next day on July 2), you need to book on Aug 2. Etc.
