My brother & his family (Air Force) are joining us for our Nov. trip this year. We usually do 2 nights at a deluxe & then move to OKW.

We haven't booked our first 2 nights yet. He checked SoG on-line but was told they are all booked for our nights. He made an inquiry about the overflow rates but I don't think he'll hear anything until at least Monday.

Does anyone know what the overflow rates are for the deluxes? How about any of the overflow rates at any of the Disney resorts?

TIA! :flower:

If he checked on line and it shows no rooms available still call if you want to stay here. I wanted dates in June and it showed nothing, but I called and the dates were available. This also happened in Oct. when we went, and keep calling people cancel all the time. On our first trip I couldn't get rooms and then a month before our trip a room was available.

Thanks - the reason he checked on line is because he had been calling all week & never could get through.

He'll try again beginning Monday also. :sunny:

I would call the hotel. I have always had trouble trying to reserve on-line. The whole hotel has to be full before they will offer overflow rates. Otherwise they will set you up in a Disney hotel but not at a discounted rate. He can also ask to be put on the waiting list. I did that for the dates I wanted in June and they called me 2 days later.

We stayed at CSR last week for 4 nights with an SoG overflow rate of $94/night. Great deal! I think they gave me one deluxe overflow rate in the upper $100's. Rates might have changed though, as I booked our stay about a month before our date of arrival. Definitely call SoG on Monday. If your dates are unavailable, they will tell you that and offer different dates. Most likely, as with my experience, they will not offer an overflow rate until you ask. Make sure you ask for all the Values, Mods, and Deluxe rates. In fact I would make a list. When I called, the person at reservations said there were no overflow rates available at any moderates and went through POR, POFQ, and CBR. I had to bring up CSR, and lo and behold there was an overflow rate for it. Sometimes they overlook resorts so make sure to inquire about rates for all the resorts. Good luck!

Sometimes when you call you are on hold for awhile. I would call everyday for a little over a week to check for June dates and then one day they were available. They did give me an overflow rate the first time I think it was $99 for Pop and $149 for a moderate, but I really wanted to stay at SOG so I waited.

We had an overflow rate at the Polynesian several years back for $164 per night, plus tax.

I was told that the internet show no availability at 60% full to prevent overbooking.

Hi, staying 2 nights at GF with overflow rate of $210 a night, garden view. They had some other deluxes available but I wanted GF. I also asked about villas (you may get a better rate at OKW than what you have) and when I called in Feb they had good rates at the villas but none left when I called in April.

It did take about an hour to get through -- just be prepared for that --- and I have to say the SoG folks were not, shall we say, as friendly as the CRO folks, and were not particularly enthused to help me with overflow rates, but in the end, I have the same little confirmation slip from Disney so I'm happy!

Good luck! :cheer2:

We always wait for SOG to be booked so we can get overflow rates. Got CR tower last December for $179, other rates offered for last December were Poly GV/BC/YC $169. For May 21st-30th, we got Poly GV for $214. That was the only deluxe overflow rate available for May when we called.

I'd suggest calling and staying on hold (use a headset or speaker phone :) ) because overflow rates get booked quickly. Last December, when we chose CR tower, we had originally emailed and CR std was available for $134, but by the time we emailed back the next day, it was gone. We were told that overflow rates are downloaded daily in the mornings, and would be available all day.

We are actually staying on our DVC points at the OKW villas (we are members there).

I will tell my brother to keep trying & if he has a hard time he'll probably end up giving me all his information & I'll give a call. I do a lot of work on the computer during the day for my business so I can be on hold easier than he can.

Thanks everyone!

We did a last minute trip in April and got an overflow rate at BWI for around $230. My mom handled it so I can't remember the exact amount. All I know is that is was peak season and the rate ended up being better than an AP rate so we took it.

I do love SOG though! Good luck! :wizard:

We got a 1-bedroom unit at OKW with an overflow rate of $134/night. Also received an overflow rate for a 2-bedroom unit at OKW somewhere around $200/night. Those were the only deluxe overflow's we've received. Have gotten CBR with an overflow in the past also, somwhere around $79/night.
