What are the potential First Ladies' pet projects?

I think I have a pretty good grasp on their husbands platforms.

What I haven't heard is what do you think the potential First Ladies' personal pet projects will be? Like Laura Bush's attention to teachers, education and reading. I expect it won't impact who I am voting for, that choice has been made, but I am curious.

I would expect Cindy McCain to continue what she has been doing for many years. Her humanitarian work has focused mainly on children and health care in developing countries. Also, she was a special education teacher, so I could see Sarah Palin and her working together on addressing such issues.

It will be a tightrope walk for Obama, though, because the children are so young. I can't imagine the kind of turmoil such a change will bring to their lives, so she may need to keep a lower profile at first to help them adjust.

After what Cindy McCain did with her first charity you want to criticize what Michelle Obama proposes to do as First Lady?

Cindy McCain STOLE copious amounts of drugs from her charity and took them illegally. She transported them across borders for the express purpose of feeding her addiction.

All other doctors from similar organizations say that it's not an accepted practice to bring narcotics into developing nations where they work. She lied to one of the doctors in her organization and convinced him it was ok (she said she had the clearance from the DEA) to write prescriptions in multiple people's names (employees of the charity..who had no knowledge of any of this) and then used the drugs for her own recreational use.

That doctor has lost his license. Her charity was shut down. What did she get? One week in an in-patient treatment program and some out-patient treatment. McCain used the same lawyer to get her off that he used to defend himself during the Keating 5 investigation.

You're really vilifying Michelle Obama when this is what Cindy McCain has to offer? Pathetic.

I like Cindy McCain despite her flaws and addiction problem. I think she is a good person with a warm heart. Being married to a jerk like John McCain would probably drive me to take drugs, too. However, suggesting that her wealth is hard earned is a joke. Her father "earned" his distributorship by taking the fall for the mob. She, and John McCain, are the beneficiaries of organized crime.

I suggest you look into Kemper Marley and his connection to Jim Hensley if you are interested in this. The Hensley fortune is a result of Hensley serving time and not spilling on Marley in the 40s. He was charged again and but found not guilty in the 50s. Hensley money (and money from other Hensley associates) financed McCain's early campaigns. I am not suggesting in any way that John McCain is a criminal, but I am suggesting that Cindy didn't get where she is financially because of hard work. I do give her great credit for going to school and getting more than one degree in special ed. Very, very noble.

Though I don't like both candidates equally, I do like both potential first ladies equally.

I think Michelle seems to be very down to earth, hard working, intelligent, good mother, and seems like she can relate to the average american. I like that she has chosen to do work for the community. I always enjoy listening to her speak. I think she will be smart about dividing her time between her children & the causes she chooses. She comes off as a leader, like her husband, & I like that. I also think she has a nice relationship with Barack & this can make all the difference in the world.

I think Cindy seems to be intelligent and although she didn't earn her money, she is very generous to have devoted her money & time to all of the wonderful causes she has. Not everyone in her financial status chooses to give the way she has. As for the drug thing, by the way, addiction is a terrible thing & I believe that everyone makes mistakes. I also think her decision to go into special education was an honorable one. It's definately a "get your hands dirty" type job for someone from her high society background.

I think both ladies will do some neat things as first lady.

My problem with Cindy McCain is not her addiction. I agree, people make mistakes. It is the fact that she is a millionaire (billionaire?) and STOLE DRUGS FROM A CHILDREN'S CHARITY. I wonder if any kids went without because of her? I cringe at the thought of her as the possible first lady. She was willing to let others take the fall for her theft, only coming clean when it was apparent they had the goods on her. I'm sorry, youthful mistakes are one thing. Her mistakes are a pretty good indication of her character.
