Other than the old Customs allowance problem what are the pitfalls of buying a camcoder in the states. Any technical problems to watchout for :confused3

your charger - USA plug and voltage - I think you would need to buy a suitable charger over here .

you can buy fom the shops that advertise for the british market on the PAL system.
are these ok?

also the U.S. is ntsc and ours is pal, so you might have a problem when you want to view what you have taped etc etc over here.

also i meant to say that you can buy some good bargains in the uk , just as cheap as they are in the U.S. :flower:

I have bought a camcorder twice when in Orlando. Both times it was cheaper and no probs when using it back in the uk

make sure you get a PAL version of the camcorder, there are shops that advertise these versions all over Kissimmee and Orlando

By buying a PAL (European) version camcorder, the majority of the famous brands such as Sony, Panny etc, the chargers are 110-240V multi standard.
All you then need is either a three pin to two pin to charge in the USA or a shaver two pin to three pin for charging in the UK.
Most of them have world wide warranties. If you go back to the USA regulary then that is no problem either.

Hi

I thnik you will find even if you do buy an NTSC model, most TV and video recorders nowadays will play all formats so it shouldnt be a problem. Lots of us by Region 1 dvds for our multi region players, you will find that these are mostly NTSC but still work on our TVs

Cheers

Luke
