What are the Parks/weather like in June?

We are considering holidaying for the last two weeks in June in Disneyworld. Can anyone tell me what the crowds are like at that time of year? And the weather? We usually go in May - the latest we have ever left has been 1 June.

Thanks for any advice you can give!

It will be hotter than May (particularly at night) as you reach full summer heat in June -- expect day time temperatures in 90's and nightly in high 70's with extreme humidity (you can sweat sitting still outside at midnight). It also rains more. Usually it is two to three thunderstorms in the afternoon to evening that last about 30 to 40 minutes a piece and really do not interfere significantly. However, you can also get steady rain. In 2002, mid to late June was awful as it rained (literally poured) 8 to 12 hours every 24 and mostly during day. However, that is considered unusual.

Crowds will also be a lot larger than you usually see in May as full school summer crowd hits by mid June. Lines for popular rides can be an hour and longer most of the day and evening. Nowhere near as bad as Eastertime or Christmas but still significantly worse than May. Note though if you have been there during Memorial Day weekend in May, then crowd you saw at that time starts to approach the June crowd.

We usually go to WDW the 3rd week of May, but last year we went the 3rd week of June.

It wasn't that much hotter, but it rained far more. I thought I was prepared for that, but to be honest I hated it. I can handle being cold and I can handle being hot, but being wet for hours every day was too much for me to take.

The parks were much busier than they are in May, but everything was doable with Fastpass.

I'll be very honest here...we've done WDW in January, May, June, and October. I'll probably never again go during the summer months. It just wasn't as enjoyable for my family.

We were some of the unlucky visitors last June during the non-stop rainstorms. Just remember to pack some raingear, cause the park will charge you royally for one. When it wasn't raining, it was extreme heat and humidity. Guess either way you'll be wet, be it sweat or rain.

The crowds were just as drusba stated. Always crowded, no matter what park or what day you went. For as much rain that fell last June, the crowds were still out in full force. Just remember to get to the parks early and take full advantage of the FastPass system.

Thanks so much everyone. I think we will consider giving it a miss and maybe go October time instead. My only worry about that is that term time starts in September in England and I worry about taking my son out of school so early in the school year. We went during Easter in 2001 and I vowed never to go again during the school holidays.

FAST PASS!!! AND the Parks stay open MUCH Later!;)

are you able to go in early June? the crowds are much lighter and generally alot less rain the first two weeks of June as oppossed to the last two weeks. although, it is still crowded and hot, but, not quite as bad as the last couple of weeks.

my wife and i are teachers so summer is the only time we can go. we have been early june and mid to late june. early june seems to be about the same heat, maybe less rain, and crowds a bit less. early june is better because many states in the southeast have school systems that dont get out until june 1 through 10th. last year we had to go during mid june and seemed a little more crowded and more rain(rain could have just been bad luck). we are also stuck in mid june this year because wifes system doesnt get out until june 13th (mine late may).
one drawback to early june is gay days. if you are offended by this or dont want to have to explain this to young ones then you can check out dates at gaydays.com. its not to bad but like all groups there are always a few who take it to far. (one girl had shirt that said i am best ride here, another had much worse). hope this helps.

Kevind65 - unfortunately the earliest we can get away is 16 June because of my work commitments. If I had been able to go the first 2 weeks of June I wouldn't have hesitated at all but it seems that it all starts to change mid-June (weather and crowds) and that is what bothers me.

Mikewdw - got my fingers burnt on a gay days thread last year after I gave my honest opinion on our experiences last year (it happened to be our last day in the park before returning to the UK) so forgive me if I don't respond to that here. Hence, I don't post very often these days.

On top of everything else, we missed out on a really good offer by the travel company we usually use, earlier this week so I am very depressed! We had decided we couldn't afford to go this year so didn't book, like we usually do, as soon as we return from a holiday. However, as the time is approaching when our holiday countdown usually starts me, my DH and DS are getting serious withdrawal symptoms!! So, fool that I am, I started going onto different websites checking prices etc. While DH and I were mulling over a really good deal, all the free child places went. That will teach us to move quicker next time!
