What are the parks like the week after Memorial weekend?

We are going to be there May 30th-June 3rd. Just wondering how busy it is going to be. My dh has a conference for most of our stay, so it will just be me and 3 kids (8, 3, and 22 mo.). It is already going to be crazy trying to keep them all in line. So I just wanted to see what kind of crowds are going to be there.

Also, how many of the parks have fireworks? Are they all at the same time? What is the best one to see?

Thanks so much,
Cari

Most of the resort rooms are booked thru June 3, So I expect the park attendance will be up as well. Figure it this way, if there's a holiday National or Otherwise, people are going to flock to Disney.

Fireworks at MK (Wishes), Epcot (illuminations) and Disney's MGM Stuidos (Fantasmic)

Illuminations and Wishes are usually at about the same time, depending on the time of the year. You can expect that Wishes will be just before Park Closing, and that Illuminations happens every night at 9pm.

Fantasmic is more of a show, and it's in an auditorium at the Studios, It's good, but Wishes has my vote for the best.

I just checked the Disney website and every hotel still has vacancies. I think it will be busy, busier then the past couple weeks, but still not packed. We will be there the same time. If you want to use this board as a random sample, the polls people have done have not shown next week to be as busy as the following weeks in June.

We go every year this time, this year May 26th - June 5th. Memorial Day weekend will be full, the Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday will not be too bad, crowds pile back in on Friday for the weekend. The Gay Days also begins on Thursday, just avoid MK on Saturday, June 4th as it will be totally packed.

Thanks!! I think I will go to the parks on Tues, Weds, & Thurs. ANd maybe the water parks on Mon & Fri.

What are Gay Days?

Cari

gay days are when a group of gay/lesbian have a big get together in orlando. they have a calendar of events and they visit one park each day. this year it is the animal kingdom on june 2, mgm june 3, mk june 4. i am sure epcot has one but i didn't write that one down. we will be going down that week also and we are just planning on not going to that park on that day mainly because it gets really crowded.

I think it is great that Disney does that!! Although I think I will avoid the parks that day due to crowds.

Disney seems to do a pretty good job of these things. While they dont "officially" support it, they do. I think as long as they take an "even" road they are ok. They make me happy by having Night of Joy which I love!

However, while they do seem to try to do a minimum to make "different" types of people happy, I still don't understand why they are going so far in the Disneland Tokyo project to satisfy EVERY detail of their culture, while in the U.S. it seems like they don't really care. Then again, the Asian Disneyland's are coming to seem better than all of the other one's.

I tried to make reservations at a disney hotel for May 26 and May 27 and all of the hotels are totally booked. I am hopefully going to go June 9 and 10.
I am afraid it will be too booked during Gay week. ::MickeyMo

question to Civeleng68 and any others who know about night of joy: This year its schedule for Fri9/9 and Sat 9/10, with MK closing early 9/9. We'll be there then, not planning to attend Night of Joy, and are wondering if they will still do fireworks at MK at some point that Friday night. Trying to decide where to be when, it will be our first (hopefully not only) splurge staying at Polynesian, and I want to take advantage as much as possible of the vicinity to MK. Any info would be much appreciated.

Night of Joy is a festival of modern Christian bands. They play in the park and have a great time.

The place is going to be packed. Most of FL school are out so hope you pack your patience cause and your A/C cause your going to need them both.

I went to NOJ last year and there were no fireworks, but it was raining. However, I don't think they have them anyway, because there are concerts going on constantly until closing time (midnight).
