Are they especially crowded? Anything tips for first timers visiting the parks May 31 - June 2? We are a family of 6: 2 adults and 4 kids ages 9, 11, 12, & 13.

Thanks!!

We've been both during Gay Days & at other times of the year ... honestly, if someone wouldn't have told us after the fact... we wouldn't have even known. Adding -- it was more crowded at Christmas. Other than it being very very hot -- I really didn't think the crowds were that bad. Let your kids wear swimsuits under clothes so they can take advantage of the various watering spots

although I've never been to the parks during "gay days" I can only assume that there will not be any "behavior" you don't want your kids to see, any more than heterosexual behavior. most people do not go overboard on PDA's(public displays of affection), no matter the sexual orientation. my hubby and I have one couple we know who go way overboard on PDAs and they are a straight couple (sometimes, it's, like, "get a room!", ) but I know a gay couple who never hardly ever touch in public. most people realize it is a family atmosphere and act accordingly, gay or staight.
as far as crowds go, it might be a little more crowded, but considering the next week schools let out, I'd rather not go in the typical "summer" months, when most schools are out, and the crowds really build up.
anytime there is a "special" days offered, you can count on a little more crowding. I always wanted to go for super soap weekend (I'm an "all My children" fanatic") but I KNOW MGM that day will be crazy. star wars weekend, food and wine festival, etc. we love may, flower and garden festival. the week of joy (christian music) I hear can be crowded too.
I would go whenever it fits your schedule, but try to stay away from spring break, summer months, and the week between christmas and new years, if possible

Me and the family went during gay day's a few years back never even realized it till we got home and saw it on TV. Wasnt that bad at all.

Thanks all. I wasn't really too worried about PDA although I have had a couple of people ask me if I was sure I wanted to go then as if there were a problem. Note that these were folks who have never been during gay days themselves so I don't know why they think it's a problem. I mainly wondered if it really increases the crowds that much. Judging from the responses, I'm guessing the crowds will probably be normal. Meaning pretty crowded but not the worst crowds.

We've been during Gay Days...we didn't see a jump in crowds or outrageous PDA's from any sex couple. We saw one adorable male couple with bride and groom Mickey ears though...they were too cute!
