What are the odds?

Trying to decide when we'll schedule our next DVC trip. We'll only have enough pts wise for a studio and want to stay somewhere other than OKW or Saratoga Springs. That means we'd be making a reservation at the 7 mo mark. What's the likelihood of being able to book a studio for a 6 - 7 day stay at any of the other resorts for some point in the last two weeks of July or first week of August? What about the end of June? Those are our options. We'd be willing to split our stay between two resorts if necessary but would rather not. Should we be able to get ressies? Will we want to book at one of the above prior to the 7 mo mark just to be on the safe side and then change at 7 mo mark if possible or shouldn't it have a problem?

I just completed my 1st DVC stay in August. I called the first week of April (4 months out) to book my trip in studios.

I started out with 4 days at AKV and 3 days at VWL. Then I ended up changing, in June, the first 2 nights to BWV, and the 2nd two to BLT.

I don't think you should have a problem getting the nights--you may have to split stay and WL, but something will be open.

Our home resort is SSR.

At the 7 month mark, we've had no problem booking studios for late July/early August:

2007, 2008, 2009 - BCV
2008, 2009 - AKV

We just did a 2 week trip at BCV/AKV & got home on July 31st. We fell in love with Kidani Village!

Be flexible and have the attitude that you get to check out other resorts. For your trip duration, I would suggest no more than one change of resorts.
