What are the odds? Renting pts wk of Halloween or Vet's Day?

We'd like to try DVC before we buy, and were hoping to take a trip to the world and stay in a DVC resort for a week or so one of the above weeks (our eldest has some no-school days those weeks, so it'd be the least disruptive time to travel). Is there a snowball's chance of getting a reservation this late date, or will we likely end up with a cash reservation? Our preference is the week of Veteran's Day, as she has two days of no school then, but the Halloween week would work, as well.

We're pretty flexible about which resort, would want a 1 bdrm or studio. Our weeks, however, wouldn't be flexible.

And if we can't get a DVC rental, we'd appreciate suggestions about the best way to check out DVC accomodations-informal tours, whatever. We're most interested in OKW, VWL, and BCV. THanks!

If you can find someone with an existing reservation to rent you, that's probably the only way you will get those days. They probably are already booked up for 2008.
