Since joining DVC, we have three trips scheduled through April 2007 right now!

I'm determined to achieve a new goal which has to so with the fact that even though we always take a lot of pictures, many of them are poor quality, arent' anything we even recognize when we get home or there are a million pictures of the same thing! :rotfl2:

So, my goal is to get better organized and create the ultimate WDW photo album for our family and I'd love to hear suggestions if you were tackling this project.

1. What are the MUST HAVE pictures & locations in WDW that no respectable WDW album should be without such as the obvious one in front of the Castle?

2. What are some really unique or little known, "behind the scene" locations or special people, places and objects for pictures?

3. Any other fun ideas or suggestions?

We leave on our first official trip HOME at the end of October and will really appreciate the suggestions! :)

There are so many locations.

Epcot:

Pictures in each country.
Pictures by the dancing fountain.

DTD:
Pictures at Lego Land
Pictures in front of World of Disney.
Picture with Buzz in front of Once upon a Toy.

MK:
Pictures at Snow Whites whishing well
Pictures by the rose garden.
Pictures in the ToonTown houses.

Wonderful suggestions dallastxcpa and jekjones1558! Thank you so much! :)

Do either one of you know if there is a map that shows all of the Kodak Picture Spots for all of the parks?

If so, it might be kinda fun to give each family member a map and a camera and have them hunt for the picture spots and everyone can come back with their own versions of pictures at each spot.

My favorite picture spot: If you go into Morocco, there is a sitting area next to the Kidcot booth. We always take a picture there:

We go every year, and I've always taken photos of the kids in front of the "storybook" signs on Winnie the Pooh. It's neat to see them "grow" because the words provide a neat measuring mark from year to year.

This sounds strange, but the raft on the way to Tom Sawyers Island it a nice spot for photos.

There is a "prop" Everest ride car next to the gift shop - you have to look for it, but it is a fun place to pose. Also, there is a prop Dumbo next to the ride. We took GREAT pictures there.

I've always enjoyed taking pictures of us ON Disney transportation. If you wait in line to ride in the front of the Monorail, the driver will take your picture sitting in the front with all the windows around you.

We use the Epcot ball/wand & MGM Sorcerers hat for the recording of the kids growth.

DH likes to get a pic of the DVC sign & me @ each resort we visit (mm @ WLV is great).

Balcony shots of the family are nice to have too.

We have fun w/disposable waterproof cameras @ waterparks & pool slides.

We've got a tradition where we stop at the Wooden Indian statue on Main Street in the MK and take a bunch of pictures of each other. It's always the first thing we do when we enter.

We've been DVC members for 9 years now, and have taken a ton of trips over that time. It's fun to go back through the Indian pictures and compare how we've changed. The statue is always the same size, but no one else is.

I'm always afraid that, for PC reasons, we'll find that the statue has been removed. So maybe you can pick out your own landmark and use it the same way.

My DH and I have had our picture taken in front of the statue in the back of the Italy Pavilion on every trip ever since 1984. My, have we changed over the years. This is really a neat thread. We always take tons of pics on every trip, but it's fun to here what everyones favorite spot for a pic is or what everyones must have pics are.

Since we have been and thus have many of the "traditional pics" (sorcerer's hat, tree of life, many signs/rides, Partners stature, topiaries, etc.) we are now on a mission to get some pics of the kids with the harder to find characters. On our list for the next trip:

Jiminy Cricket
Figment
Smee
Genie
Brother Bear characters
Rabbit

Happy picture taking! Just make sure to post them when you return!

One other note: as others have said, we use a similar picture each time we go as a way to measure the kids as they grow. For us: Tigger! We see how many "stripes" the kids are this year! lol

this response is not so much about where, but with what. If you do not have a digital camera, I suggest you get one. There is a ton of info on the photography board. I was resistant to getting one and now I'm on my second one. Love it. Then when the quality is poor, or someone isn't smiling you know immediately, you can delete and start over!

I also take lots and lots of pics on trips and lots of times the same thing over and over. Hmmmmm how many pics do I have of Spaceship Earth :rotfl: :rotfl: Too many to count.

I've now started trying to have a theme when taking pics - i've done signs, and tried to do things that begin with each letter of the alphabet.

I love the idea of taking pics in front of the same object. Wish we had done that when we first started going to WDW in '93.

happy pic taking on your trip in Oct.

Wow, so many great ideas in this thread! Thank you all for sharing them. I just wish I had tried to get organized with this project many years ago. At least it's in time for my granddaughter!

We're a 4 generation Disney family. We went on our honeymoon over 25 years ago, and drafted my parents into feeling the magic. Then I started taking my children and now we're taking my granddaughter.

So many magical memories through the years. Our main subject has always been the Castle.

One year we even had a family photo contest to see who could get the picture of the craziest tourist outfit! So we came home with a ton of pictures of people we didn't even know, but it was sure a hoot! :rotfl2:

Thank you all for the inspiration. I look forward to hearing more!

OK. Somewhat related to the topic. Every trip, we buy a WDW photo album. We place all of the pics from that trip in the album. That way, we can always mark time by our trips. We are really starting to see how our kids are growing up on Disney. .... A little embarassing, we have lots' of albums.

My wife thought I was crazy for buying that first album. But, she is now as obsessed as I am.

We always take pics while inside the spinning teacups. It is a great way to track each childs growth and the pictures are hilarious to boot.

My DH gets that teacup spinning so fast and then I spend the next few minutes trying to snap the photos. The kids are usually falling over with HUGE smiles on their faces. Great shots!!!
