We have never been to Universal Studios. We plan to spend a day there on a trip to WDW in January. Can you list some of the must do rides and shows for me please? We'll be in both parks. :thanks:

All attractions at Universal are must do's. You should consider purchasing Express passes if you want to do as much as possible in a single day. January isn't usually busy but bypassing lines will definately help.

one of the most popular rides there will be The Simpsons and probably HRRR by that time, and maybe Harry Potter

Honestly, ALL the rides are worth seeing. All the main attractions shouldnt be missed. To give you a small list with only a few rides would be cheating all the others. They're all good.

i do all the rides and show.

too difficult to decide which ones to NOT do.

kind of like asking, which of my 4 sons i like the best.........

there are some i always tell newbies to be sure to take in as a newbie wouldn't know how great a certain show or ride can be.

Horror Make Up show is one you don't want to miss.

and my heart also belongs to Dr Doom........:worship:

which isn't everyone's favorite....

If you can work it into your vacation - it would be well worth spending a night at a universal resort for the unlimited front of the line pass. If you cannot see everything .....
Spider man is a must!!! Very unique and incredible!

Otherwise - we love fire and ice (roller coaster), cat in the hat - kids ride but a fave w/ myself and my teens. Disaster I think it is now called .... the old eathquake, as well as back lot tour also cannot be missed!!!

Oh - and men in black ..... GREAT FUN!!

I think once you spend one day at Universal - you will want to add another day!

Have fun!!

We also only have one day and can't afford to stay onsite, so we will decide about the Express Pass that day.

My plan is go to US first thing, ride the biggies, skip the little kid area, try and do Horror Make up show...

then a quick lunch and over to IOA
My question is: I hate roller coasters but DH and DD will want to ride. Its mid November so figure we will skip the water stuff and Seuss area. So what coasters are not to be missed and is there anything ( Spiderman?) that I could stand to do?

Likewise, at US, I once was there and did I think, MIB, and didnt enjoy it- I dont even like BTTM at Disney- so would I be ok on Shrek and Terminator?

Hulk and both sides of Dueling Dragons are must rides for coaster fans. You might like Jurassic Park River Adventure...it's a water ride but sometimes you don't get that wet...other times you get soaked. You might also like Poseidon's Fury...it's a walk through show with some really cool special effects.

Shrek 4-D is a 3D movie with moving seats but stationary seating is available. Terminator 2 is a movie/show so you should be fine with that too.

early november does not typically have large crowds.
you should be able to do more at that time period than what someone in the summer can do.

if you go on a weekday, even less crowds.

The guys will definitely want to try The Mummy Coaster. It's a mild coaster with awesome special effects.

Spiderman is a combination of simulator and actual ride. It's amazing but you will get that kind of jerky simulator effect at times. You can close your eyes of course and that helps but the car keeps moving and jerking around. It's never fast though.

I did not think they had the back lot tour anymore. If they do where is it?

haha the Mummy is NOT mild IMO! I rode it 3 times yesterday... it has sudden stops and starts, a rapid acceleration up a hill and is pretty jerky.
