What are the kid's play areas like at the two parks?

It looks like there are a couple of kids themed play areas in both parks. Are they all water/splash parks? Does it feel like the kids are constantly changing in and out of bathing suits all day? Are there any water slides, or just splash pad like areas?

Also, for adults, can you effectively watch your kids with clothes on? Is there somewhere to sit and watch where you can see the whole area and keep an eye on your kids or do you have to follow them around? And if so, do you get drenched and should we bring our own bathing suits or a change of clothes?

The kid's areas are: Woody Woodpecker KidZone at the Studios which includes Fievel's Playland and the water play area Curious George Goes To Town. You can watch your children at Curious George and there is a sitting area if you don't want to get wet. At IOA you have Camp Jurassic, Me Ship The Olive and the splash zone area at Jurassic Park River Adventure. Execept for the splash zone (which isn't really a play area just an area to get wet) the other areas are dry. There are fountain areas in Cartoon Lagoon right beside Ripsaw Falls and in CityWalk. Kids play in those fountains all the time.

These are just the play areas...not all the children's attractions.

There is also If I Ran the Zoo at IOA. It has a water component.

I'm thinking of dressing them in those swimsuits that are actually like board shorts and t-shirts so they can get wet all day. Would this be considered appropriate park attire? (They will be 5 and almost 8.)

Absolutely, we do this all time.

Not sure I would have the kids wear a wet bathing suit all day, especially those rashguard shirts.

They can be really hot and don't breathe if the kids get hot and sweaty. And then after playing, when they are soaking drenched, who wants to wear wet clothes? Plus you won't be able to ride dry rides, when they're all wet. I'd at least bring a dry change of clothes for them!

People walk around soaking wet at the parks all the time. There are so many water rides, it is quite inevitable. You can certainly go on all the rides even if you are wet!

In the Florida heat, things dry very quickly. Just don't wear denim!

I figured they would dry quickly, like any swim suit. I am trying to avoid carrying a bag.

Clothes will dry quickly if it's not too humid...otherwise it will take a long time to dry out.

If you are going to IOA anytime between April and September, it is gonna be hot and clothes dry fast. I mean not in a minute or 2 . . . but after a good 10 minutes of walking to the next ride you won't even notice the wetness (unless you got completely soaked on Popeye's). With the 90 degree heat, you probably will welcome the water on you anyways.

I mean you can bring a change of clothes if you are just watching kids and not riding. My sister in law is bringing her 2 year old next Friday and will have the bag with change of clothes for him, but she is not riding anything either.

My youngest LOVES Camp Jurassic!! It's so difficult to get him to leave!
