I am trying to figure out my Christmas budget and am wondering what are the hot gift ideas for 7 year old girls?

My DD is turning 7. On her wish list are Squinkies, an AG doll, a Disney princess designer collection doll, and maybe a Nintendo DS. She is not getting all of this, of course, but that's what she talks about. I'm thinking the AG doll might be out because I have one already bought for her birthday in Nov. She loves the princess and Barbie Squinkies and plays with them for hours.

On my DD7's list is:

jewelry box
crafts
Fijit friend
books/ music CDs mp3s
nail polish set
some jewelry (to go in the jewelry box)
books

My dd will be 7 in March and her list look very similar to this except she has no idea what the Disney Princess Designer Collection Doll is and she wants games for her DS. She's getting an AG doll for Christmas and probably some other accessories too that she found on Etsy that she fell in love with for the doll (She has other 18 inch dolls, from Target, that she want them for).

My DD is pining for her own MP3. She'll get it because I'm tired of her taking mine. Also wants a Nintendo DS. If I can find a deal on one around the holidays I'll purchase it for her March birthday. Other things on her list is nail polish and nail pen, American Girl doll (already has one, will not be getting another), laptop (as if!!), anything Barbie, thought the babysitter Barbie is the current want and all the "As Seen on Nick" crud like the slushee maker. I hate all those dang commercials...

Cute! We have a Disney Store near us, and my DD just stands there staring at the princess dolls. I'd probably get her one if she could decide. She liked Ariel, but didn't tell me until after it sold out. Now she's thinking about Rapunzel...

thanks for all the advice! It seems like we are hitting the transition year from "toys" to bigger things and I'm really stuck on ideas.

The jewelry box is a good idea, I'll have to look for one, or if you've done any reasearch I'd love if you could share some links!

My DD is 61/2 and loves calico critters. It's a high end toy but on the expensive side. So far for christmas I bought her a cottage( the cheaper one) a hedgehog family w matching baby twins, a bunny set with baby twins.

You might want to get a jewelry box that hangs on the wall especially if dresser space is limited. My inlaws gave my DD one that also has a place to put photos on the front of the box. I don't know where they got it though, sorry.

Squinkies are what DD is talking about these days. She still likes Barbie's and crafts. but Squinkies are big. Books are also great, and she's wanting some boardgames. We bought her a Tinkerbelle jewelry box a few years back at JCP for ~$10 that she loves. It's nothing fancy, but has a ballerina inside and plays music. DD likes accessorizing, so I'm thinking about going to Claire's to purchase necklaces and bracelets.
