We are going to be driving to Florida in Jan. and I want to order a tripkit from CAA but I need to know all the #'s. The last time I asked them for that way and said I79 they had a route that went all the way to the ocean.

We've done this route many times, so here is a link from Pittsburgh for ya!
I think this is the route you are looking for:

I am a little computer illiterate. How do I access that linc?

You highlight it all and the clik with your right mouse button and copy and paste to a web browser internet bar. OR go to www.mappoint.com and type in the route.

Hope this helps.

Good memory Mortlives. We drove down last summer and that is exactley the route you take

Did you find it okay to drive that route? I have only done it one time but have done the I75 several times. With I75 there is only one route to go. It seemed to me there were a couple of times we were a little lost and not sure if we were going the right way or not. Is it preety well marked?

Yeah, we didn't get lost or miss any exits. It's a pretty route, too, through the mountains and some other truly gorgeous scenery. That was what made us decide it was a mistake flying to WDW.

How long did it take you all to travel to Florida using the I95 route? We have also only taken I75, but since we are going on the cruise I want to take 95 to Port Canaveral and to have a little change of scenery.

It took about 20 hours driving time. We didn't drive straight, but crossed the border into Buffalo to start the trip one night, and then spent the next night in Charlotte, NC.

We were thinking of leaving the night before and staying in Erie Pennsylvania. That way we would be across the border and the trip would hopefully be that much less the next 2 days. With having 5 in the van we are going to be crowded.

We left at 5pm, arrived just north of Pittsburgh, PA at Midnight. We got down to the Savannagh area the next night and stayed there. The next day it took, I think about 4 hrs to get to Orlando. We left Friday at 5pm and got to Orlando Sunday at noon, or there abouts.

That's how we're planning on doing it. Without the van and the 5 people, though. There's only 3 of us. I sooo can't wait for February.

Staying in Erie the first night would be a good idea.It gets hilly and very winddy between Erie and Pittsburg. Not a fun drive at night, especially if it is snowing or raining. You will appreciate the scenery more in the daylight.

Sorry I forgot to add this. It is about a 20 total driving hours trip. I'm also going March Break but we got a good deal on flights $240.00 out of Buffalo. Leaving on the Friday, can't wait.

So the mountains are just below Erie then? We wouldn't be able to leave until about 8:30 p.m. My ds works days and he won't get home until 8:15 so we won't be able to leave until then. I also do volunteer work and have to do work that night as well but I am hopeful that I will be able to get someone to cover me for the last half of it. I would be able to all the prep work before I left. Bizzibee, my dgrdd and my foster son would be able to get the car packed so that we would be able to leave right away.

If I recall correctly, the mountains begin south of Pittsburgh. Pennsylvania is more rolling hills. Quite pretty, really.

It's a cool route. There are 2 tunnels through mountains you take, and you get to watch the seasons change from winter to spring to summer.

The mountains do begin after Pittsburg but the section between Erie and Pittsburg has a lot of curves and hills. It isn't fun to drive at night. I found this the worst part of the drive. Also there was a lot of construction last year. Hopefully they are done. Also I don't know if anybody mentioned #19 which is a bypass between # 79 and #77. It will save you a ton of time but please watch your speed. There are cops all over the place
