What are the hacks for the MNSSHP bands, so a child cannot over-tighten them?

I’ve heard kiddos can overtighten the bands. I would assume there are tips & tricks to help prevent this problem.

I’m curious what your creative solutions are for this problem!

Yeah, we ran into this issue. Thankfully the CM put a new one on (it was obvious this happens often). TBH, I’m not sure how you can prevent it short of telling your kiddo not to (assuming they’re old enough). Maybe you could tie something else (a rubber band) around one part to prevent it from moving.

The only thing I think you can do is cut off the ends so that there is nothing to pull on and make them tighter.

Yeah, this is a real issue for the littles. They warn you when they put it on but it is irrelevant for small children who tug at everything. I was in line for Dumbo behind a mom trying to console her sweet little girl who was in tears because she had tightened it. CM at the ride had no scissors… I suggested the shop across the way since I’m assuming CM’s there would use them to remove tags, etc.

Not well thought out, Disney!

Maybe attach a saftey pin right under the bead. It would prevent it from getting tighter but a child might undo it.

Wrapping a bandaid around it might also work

If you take the two ends and tie them in a double knot looping under ... then even if they keep pulling them it will not impact the "lock". The lock only slides tighter but with a knot it can't slide. Before & After ...

Littles? My 16 and 20 year olds had to get their's removed!

This post was very timely for me because we are attending the party in 2 weeks and I just know my DD will accidentally tighten it if I don't do something to prevent it!

I'm 1000000% team ribbon it so much better than those paper one.

Do people that go to Disney not go to any other festivals? These type of bands are everywhere and have been for awhile.

There just plastic teeth that hold the fabric, nothing is locked.
You can twist the bottom tight then you can basically unscrew the black part.
You can also put the fabric thru a cut straw or a full one then can move the fabric back and forth. All your trying to do is open up the plastic teeth holding the ribbon. Then it just pulls off.

To keep it from tightening I would just use a small safety pin on the other side of the black piece. Similar to this by a safety pin 1/8 the size.
