What do you think are the chances that with "stalking" the RAT I will be able to find a studio or 1 bedroom at any resort available for this coming weekend (1/12-1/14?)

I would say nearly 0.0001%. It's a holiday weekend.

MLK weekend, slim to none, but it can happen. I would call MS and look online .

Thanks for the replies. I thought the same, slim to none. Up through the middle of last week, I was seeing some very random availability. I should have booked then. I did call MS 3 times yesterday. I will keep trying. The current plan calls for staying at a friend's house Friday night, she booked a room at Pop on Saturday, and I have a 1 BR at GF Sunday night. I was feeling guilty using the points to stay on property for the whole weekend. First time leaving my son (10 1/2) for a mom weekend away!

I opened a chat yesterday when checking the RAT. I asked if it does make a difference calling when close to check-in date (because there is a notation on the site that says calling within 10 days may make a difference) and this is the response I received:

I am not sure if that is accurate information, but it can't hurt to try. Waits were not bad at all. I called right when they opened at 9, midday, and shortly before they closed last night.

If you are willing to pay cash, pretty sure I've seen SSR on hotwire relatively last minute more than a few times even during popular periods.

That said, i came up empty on any studio, looking since early Dec, for 3-4 nights 1/10 - 1/13 or 1/14

A few weeks ago, considered myself lucky to get 3 of them @ a value, $160+ rack rate the last night no less!
