What are the chances of getting this reservation?

I am interested in renting points for a value studio at AKV Dec 13-Dec 15. In the past couple of years I have had a few back and forth emails with a Canadian DVC member (who doesn't own AKV, so she would have to try and book for me at the 7 months window).

In your opinion, what do you think the chances of securing this reservation? I have looked at the rentals wanted board and it looks like people requesting AKV are having a harder time securing reservations.

We just booked AKV Savannah view at the 7 month window no problem

december is a VERY popular for DVC reservations - the decorations are up and point costs are down.

AKV value studios are relatively few in number...and demand is high because point costs are super cheap and you still have a chance at a savanna view.

i'm willing to bet all the value studios have been booked up for at least a month already. if you were a DVC member, you could take a big risk and waitlist for those nights and hope it comes through. as a renter, virtually no DVC owner would be willing to put their pts at risk for 6-7 months to take a chance on something becoming available. if i were a DVC owner looking to rent, i wouldn't even bother responding to requests like that...

looking for something at SSR or OKW is more reasonable, as they are much larger resorts. being willing to take any studio at AKV helps your chances... but with december being extremely popular among DVC members in general, you'd be fortunate to find availability for those options. (maybe for the saturday night, as weekend costs are much higher...but less likely to find availability on that sunday night, IMO.)

I agree with the previous poster. There are realtively few units available in the value catagory at AKV, and lots of new AKV owners out there with development points they are going to want to use ASAP. For taht reason, I think this year will be tough for getting any reservation at AKV, and especially for that time period and value unit. Next year, AKV will have its whole new building open and things should be easier, but for this year, I think it will be a tough reservation to get at the 7 month mark.
