What are the chances of getting a "walk in" for 1 at Citricos or Artist point?

So it was originally going to be me and my 17 year old, and I got us reservations at "Dine with an imagineer" in August. Plans changed and now my 15 year old is coming too. I would like the two of them to go to Dine with an imagineer--my 15 year old taking my place. I've been told this should be fine--but I don't want to "count on it" until we are actually there.
So, if all goes well, and the two of them go to the Dine with an Imagineer at 5:30 on a Thursday in August...and now I'm stuck with no dinner plans...how likely will it be that I am able to do a walk in party of 1 at Citricos (just after 5:30) or Artist Point (about 6 pm, to account for transportation to WL?)

If both of those are unlikely, any other suggestions? We are staying at WL, but I will be going to the GF to make sure the kids get checked in ok.

I would get a reservation somewhere. I wouldn't even try a walk in if you want to eat at specific time. I'm assuming you've tried online for both places already?

Would you be willing to eat at the bar? I would think it would be pretty easy to get a seat at the bar right at opening time. Also I'm thinking of Citrico's, it's been so long since I've been to AP I don't even remember a bar there.

You should be able to eat at the bar pretty easily at either place. You can also book a reservation on the app while you're standing outside the restaurant. Those two are pretty easy to book.

If you are there mid to late August you should be ok. It's a primarily slower time at the resort restaurants but you would have to be flexible with your times. I find Citricos and AP have availability even the day before or same day however with the AP 30% off promo right now you might find the hours during this promotion to be a little difficult to get especially on the weekend otherwise you should be able to do a walk-in or ADR within the same day or 2.
